How to Complete the Anansi Trials in The Sims 4

As a Sims 4 player, I’m really enjoying exploring Ondarion, the world that came with the Royalty and Legacy pack! It’s full of cool little details and places to discover. If you really take the time to look around, you can find hidden treasure, secret passages, and even magical wells – it’s so rewarding to uncover everything!

This article is all about Anansi’s Well, a notable landmark in The Sims 4. We’ll cover everything players need to know, including its location and how to use it.

Anansi’s Well Overview (Location, Interactions)

What Is Anansi’s Well in The Sims 4?

Anansi’s Well can be found in Ondarion’s Dambele district, close to Zanbira Market – specifically, on the far side of the aqueduct. Players who investigate the well will discover a legend promising rewards for completing its challenges, but warning of punishment for failure.

In addition to beginning the trials, players can consult the well for guidance from Anansi—for just 1 Simoleon. The trials themselves consist of four sections: Weave the Story, Offer a Secret, Spin the Web, and Fulfill the Thread.

How to Complete Anansi’s Trials in The Sims 4:

Here is how players can complete all parts of Anansi’s trials in The Sims 4:

Anansi’s First Trial: Weave a Story

  • Riddle:Spin a tale with wit and weight. Speak a story, and let Anansi decide your fate.
  • Moodlet Clue:Spin a tale with wit and weight, let your words weave in shadowed fate. Anansi’s verdict you await.

Because royal families and their histories often involve secrets and scandals, players might expect this challenge to involve uncovering one. But that’s not what it’s about.

The first Anansi trial is easy: just have your Sim tell a story to another Sim. It doesn’t matter what kind of story it is—funny, unbelievable, or part of a group storytelling session—as long as the other Sim enjoys it, you’ll complete the trial.

After finishing an Anansi trial, players will get a temporary mood boost, feeling either Confident, Good, or Focused. Plus, successfully completing the first trial gives them a bonus that helps them perform better in the next rank.

Anansi’s Second Trial: Offer a Secret

  • Riddle:Whisper what hides beneath your smile. Hold a secret too tightly and the web may twist, but share it and Anasi’s favor finds you.
  • Moodlet Clue:[This Sim] must whisper what hides beneath their smile. Share a secret, and perhaps Anansi’s favor will be theirs.

This challenge asks players to reveal another Sim’s secret. First, you’ll need to find out what that secret is – you can do this by gossiping or buying the information. Then, simply talk to another Sim and choose the “Share Secret About” option when you gossip to expose it.

Completing this trial will help players advance in the Noble Career by improving their performance. If they’ve also finished the necessary steps for a promotion, they’ll be eligible to move up.

Anansi’s Third Trial: Spin the Web

  • Riddle:Weave a trick. Twist a thread. Let another stumble while you rise. Let Anansi judge if you are clever enough to dance in the web.
  • Moodlet Clue:[This Sim] must attempt a deceitful act under Anasi’s watchful eyes. This trail will reveal if they are clever or simply tangled in folly.

Okay, so this puzzle is a little confusing, but I’ve figured out a clue! When you’re doing these trials, pay attention to the little moodlets you get. I noticed I was getting a ‘Focused’ moodlet, and apparently, that’s a hint that I need to trick someone. So, it seems like the next step involves being deceptive – basically, lying or misleading another Sim!

Okay, so for the third trial, you just need to go into the Mischief menu – it’s under the ‘Deception’ tab – and pick any of the options there. Seriously, any of them will do!

Completing this trial won’t make players stronger in the Noble Career, but it will give them a small increase to their current favor alignment.

Anansi’s Fourth Trial: Grins with Approval

  • Riddle:Gather the words that linger in your mind, and bind them to the page. If written with excellence, it will endure gracefully in Anansi’s web.
  • Moodlet Clue:Anansi poses a challenge for [this Sim] to write a book worthy of remembrance. Should excellence emerge, rewards await, but if the work falters, so too might its maker.

Before you finish this trial, be sure to claim any available promotions. If you successfully complete the trial, you’ll earn a promotion in the Noble Career.

For three days, your Sim will be in a focused mood, giving them a boost to their concentration. During this time, they need to write a book of Excellent quality. If they succeed within that timeframe, they’ll finish the final challenge.

While strong writing skills are helpful, they aren’t essential for this task. With a little practice, anyone can learn to do it. Also, it’s important to be in a positive mindset when writing – being in a good mood will help you create a better book.

To quickly give their Sim the highest possible Writing skill and ensure a great book, players can use the cheat code: “stats.set_skill_level Major_Writing 10”.

If a Sim doesn’t succeed at a challenge, they’ll experience the reverse of what they expected. So, instead of gaining a benefit like reputation, they’ll actually lose some.

Reward for Completing the Anansi Trials in The Sims 4

So, I just found out that if your Sim powers through all four Anansi trials, you get the Threadshifter trait! It’s pretty cool – it lets you change your Sim’s Noble Career alignment whenever you want. Basically, you’re not locked into a good or evil path, you can switch it up however you feel like playing. It’s a nice bit of flexibility!

Players can change their alignment by using the ‘Shift Favor’ option. However, there’s a cooldown period before they can shift again. Also, shifting favor won’t result in a perfect swap to the opposite side – players will lose a small amount of favor in the process.

In The Sims 4, Sims who aren’t working in the Noble Career can still try the Anansi trials, but they won’t get the full benefits. The trials only offer temporary mood boosts for Sims outside of this career, while career advantages and the special Threadshifter trait are reserved for Noble Career Sims. Also, you can only complete the trials once. So, if you’re not playing a Sim in the Noble Career, it’s best to skip the Anansi trials altogether.
