PlayStation fans have had a lot to get excited about lately! The first State of Play event of the year, held on February 12th, featured over an hour of major announcements and updates. Sony surprised everyone by revealing Kena: Scars of Kosmora, a sequel to the popular 2021 game, Bridge of Spirits. The event continued with exciting news, including an update on the PlayStation 5 exclusive Saros, a first look at a new John Wick game from Saber Interactive, and confirmation that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is coming to PC with enhanced features. Perhaps the biggest announcement came from Santa Monica Studios: they’re officially working on a remake of the original God of War Trilogy.

Okay, so this month is awesome for PlayStation Plus members, but the biggest deal by far is definitely Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It originally came out on PS5 in 2023, and then later hit PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store in 2025. We’re all still waiting to hear what Insomniac is working on next – hopefully Marvel’s Wolverine soon! – but having Spider-Man 2 on PS Plus is fantastic. It’s a perfect chance to either finally play it if you haven’t, or jump back in for another go if you loved it the first time.
PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members get this month’s new games automatically, but even Essential members can grab some freebies right now! From February 3rd to March 2nd, PS Plus subscribers can claim four games: Undisputed, Subnautica: Below Zero, Ultros, and Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. You can keep and play these games as long as you have an active PS Plus subscription. Don’t wait too long, though – these games will be replaced with new ones next month!
Beyond the latest PS Plus games, 2026 looks like another great year for PlayStation 5 owners. The newest game in the Nioh series recently came out on PS5 and PC, and there are still several exciting exclusive titles on the way. PlayStation’s next major release is Saros from Housemarque, coming in April. However, the most eagerly awaited PS5 exclusive is undoubtedly Marvel’s Wolverine. While a specific release date hasn’t been announced beyond Fall 2026, Insomniac promises to share more details this Spring.
