WWE 2K26 Reveals Changes Coming to Universe Mode and More

WWE 2K26 will feature significant improvements to its Universe Mode and Community Creations tools compared to the previous game. Universe Mode is the main free-play mode, and the developers at Visual Concepts and 2K are working hard to make it feel more realistic and immersive than ever before.

Even though WWE 2K26 doesn’t officially release until March 13th (with early access starting March 6th), a lot of exciting features have already been announced. These include a special showcase focused on CM Punk, a new storyline centered around factions in The Island, and a longer, 50-week season for MyGM. The developers are also promising more updates for the Universe mode.

WWE 2K26 Makes Big Improvements to Universe Mode

A major new feature coming to Universe mode is the WWE Draft, which players can add to their game at any time. Previously only available in the MyGM mode, the Draft lets you set up events where wrestlers switch between brands on your chosen shows, keeping things interesting as rosters change. You’ll be able to customize the Draft with adjustable settings, including the number of rounds – up to eight – and watch the selections unfold during your shows, blending matches with draft picks.

More Games

The promo system in WWE 2K25‘s Universe mode is getting a major update with the addition of Post-Match Interviews. After winning a match, wrestlers can now make announcements that could significantly impact the game, like setting up a #1 contender’s match, challenging for a title, or even switching to a different division. Losing wrestlers also have options – they can interrupt the interview to offer a handshake, start a fight, or simply have a tense standoff, which can escalate existing feuds. These new promos join the returning options like self-promos, callouts, and open challenges, which now include the possibility of impromptu title defenses.

A major update is coming to the Money in the Bank feature. Instead of briefcases being tied to specific championships, winners will now be able to challenge for any title at any time. With eight possible titles per show, there will be more choices than ever. Cashing in a briefcase has also been simplified to a single button press. Players will also have more control over when they cash in – they can choose to challenge immediately after a match or even during it. Finally, WWE 2K26‘s Universe Mode will allow players to watch their custom cards unfold automatically with very few interruptions, if they prefer not to play them directly.

The updates aren’t limited to the Universe mode – Creation mode is also getting some exciting new features! Fans have been requesting better entrance customization for WWE factions and stables, and it’s finally happening. Players will be able to design unique entrances and victory celebrations for groups of up to five Superstars, with detailed timeline editing and control over lighting effects. There’s also a significant boost to creation capacity: the number of custom wrestlers you can create has doubled to 200, and you’ll have space for 2,000 custom images. Finally, the game is adding more cosmetic options, an improved face sculpting system, and even more choices for creating two-toned hairstyles.
