The Elbaf arc in One Piece has significantly raised the stakes in terms of power levels. The introduction of the Holy Knights and the Giants of Elbaf establishes them as some of the strongest characters in the series, and it’s becoming increasingly obvious that the events unfolding on this island are the first steps towards a massive, final conflict.
While many powerful characters have emerged, none compare to Imu’s immense and frightening power. Imu, now revealed on the island through Gunko, has proven to be the ultimate threat fans anticipated, but their abilities have exceeded all expectations. They can transform the Elbaf Giants into monstrously powerful beings, take control of anyone, and forge terrifying agreements that grant incredible power to those they involve.
Imu was the dominant power during the Void Century and has secretly controlled the world ever since. Evidence suggests they are the large demon figure shown on the left side of the Elbaf Mural, hinting that they will be revealed as the final antagonist of the story.
Imu’s immense power comes from a unique and incredibly strong Devil Fruit. While its name remains unknown, we’ve seen its abilities throughout this story arc. Many fans speculate it’s a true ‘Devil’ Fruit due to its contract-making power and frightening, demonic qualities.
The Hellfire Serpent Has The Greatest Power In The World

The Hellfire Serpent is the most puzzling part of both the Elbaf Mural and the Harley Texts. Shown on the right side of the mural, this enormous, fire-breathing serpent appears to be battling a large dragon, and the texts describe it as a hugely significant and powerful creature within the story’s world.
No one has ever encountered an enemy like this one, and there’s no evidence – no Devil Fruit or power – to suggest it even exists. The prevailing legend says the Hellfire Serpent was the main villain in the First World, battling the original Nika and ultimately causing its downfall. It’s believed to be sleeping now, waiting to be unleashed in the Final War, likely to fight alongside Imu.
Honestly, it was terrifying! The Earth God just lost it, and teamed up with this incredibly powerful, fiery serpent. Together, they basically covered the whole world in death and total darkness – it was a truly awful time.
It’s just a theory at this point, but the Elbaf Mural suggests Loki will face a major, defining battle in the upcoming Final War. His opponent appears to be a colossal serpent, potentially even larger than Loki’s dragon form, and seems to be the only enemy capable of matching him in power.
I’ve noticed a lot of fans theorize that the Hellfire Serpent might actually be the Red Line, or at least connected to it – the sheer size of the serpent seems to fit. It’s interesting because the stories about Elbaf mention the Giants both hating and fearing the Red Line. While it’s hard to say for sure what Eiichiro Oda has planned, I think this serpent could end up being a major antagonist in the final battles of the series.
