A player of The Sims 4 recently shared a surprisingly heartwarming and creepy story that feels like something out of a horror film. While The Sims 4 is known for its unpredictable moments, one player experienced a truly unsettling series of events when a strange person started following their Sim’s child home from school.
The Sims recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, and over the years, players have shared many eerie stories about the game. Some spooky events were intentionally created by the developers, like the famous disappearance of Bella Goth and alien abductions. Others came from player-made modifications, adding things like serial killers or zombie outbreaks to the normally peaceful gameplay. However, perhaps the most unsettling and unique stories are the ones the game generates on its own, as in this surprisingly heartwarming tale.
Sims 4 Player Receives Shocking Surprise from Guest
Raising children in The Sims 4 can be really engaging, letting you build family histories and help your Sims achieve their dreams. But sometimes, things get strange. That’s what happened to one Reddit user, Miss_V26, when her Sim, Ben, asked to bring a friend home from school. The friend turned out to be a ghost – the ghost of Ben’s older brother, Louis! Apparently, Louis had died in a fireplace accident when Ben was a baby. Even though Ben didn’t remember his brother, they somehow formed a connection at school, and the ghost followed Ben home.

The story has taken a surprisingly cheerful turn since it was first shared. The player reported that Ben and Louis became close friends, and even the spirit of their child was welcomed back into the family. Shortly after the original post, things got even better: Ben was brought back to life in The Sims 4 using Ambrosia, a rare and magical meal known for its rejuvenating and life-restoring properties.
Louis unexpectedly coming back to life could cause long-term problems for his family, and it might create tension between him and his brother, Ben, who recently reconnected with him. The game they’re playing is set in a historical neighborhood, specifically the 1920s. The family appears to be wealthy, and originally, Louis was supposed to inherit the family fortune, but that responsibility went to Ben after Louis was presumed dead. It’s unclear if the player is using the Royalty and Legacy expansion pack in The Sims 4 to add to this strange story of sibling rivalry, but currently, the brothers are simply enjoying spending time together, pursuing hobbies like cooking and learning the piano.
This isn’t the only surprising school story to emerge from this discussion, and remarkably, this one didn’t involve a Sim’s death. Another player shared that their child Sim brought a school friend home who turned out to be their own triplet – a sibling who had been taken into foster care as a baby. Even with all the expansions and characters in The Sims 4, it’s amazing how the game’s randomness can create stories that are even more captivating than anything the developers or players could have imagined.
