In the game “Life is Strange: Double Exposure,” as with other titles in the series, you’ll encounter a variety of challenges that require your problem-solving skills in order to gather crucial data for unraveling the main enigma. One such puzzle involves cracking the code on Vinh’s phone to discover any hidden secrets he may be guarding.
In the game ‘Life is Strange: Double Exposure’, Max is investigating the murder of Safi. One of the main suspects in Chapter 2 is Vinh, as he’s been acting mysteriously regarding his phone. To uncover his secrets, Max must figure out the passcode to unlock it and reveal what he’s been hiding.
How to Unlock Vinh’s Phone
As a gamer, I kick off this mission by hustling over to Vinh in the game quad once I’ve had my fill at the local watering hole. Seems like his phone has gone missing, suspecting Diamond as the culprit. I’ll chat with Diamond and listen in on some Abraxas gang chatter around to figure out if she took it or not. Turns out, it wasn’t Diamond who snatched his phone. Vinh will later let me know where I can track him down – his office, presumably to sort things out.
First, you can’t locate Vinh in his office right away, so go ahead and finish tasks 1 and 2 in the Fine Arts Building. After completing those, return later to find Vinh back in his office in the Living World. His phone has been found, but he’s being rather mysterious about it. He claims he can’t recall his passcode because of a hangover, but hints that it’s connected to the day a specific magician-scientist passed away.
Max will point out that it’s fortunate she knows another Vinh she can converse with, and this provides an opportunity for us to shift to the realm of the Dead World using her dimensional abilities. Head back to Vinh’s office within the Dead World, where you’ll discover him lounging on a couch, imbibing a bit earlier than usual. During your conversation with him, you can choose to call in a favor he owes you to obtain his passcode, or you might uncover which magical scientist he was discussing in the Living World.

It’s nestled beside the fireplace, on your left as you step inside. If you’re unsure about its location, it’s the same place where you assisted Gwen in retrieving that locked bookcase’s contents.
With the code now in hand, head back to Vinh’s office within the Living World. His office will be empty, but you’ll find his phone sitting on his desk. Use the passcode to unlock it and uncover Vinh’s hidden secret. This discovery will bring Max one step closer to solving the mystery of who murdered Safi in ‘Life is Strange: Double Exposure’.
