FlyQuest Suffers Emotional Elimination From League Worlds in Paris

As a seasoned gamer with years of esports under my belt, I can’t help but feel a tinge of empathy for FlyQuest. They’ve come so far this year, from their humble beginnings to the top five at Worlds 2024. It’s a testament to their resilience and determination that they managed to secure the number one spot in LCS Summer 2024.

As a devoted fan, I’m sharing the disappointment that FlyQuest experienced at the League of Legends World Championship in Paris. They put up a valiant fight against Gen.G in the quarterfinals, but ultimately came up just short. A closely contested match turned into a decisive win for Gen.G, propelling them into the semifinals with dreams of toppling T1 and the legendary Faker.

In a heartfelt post-game conversation, player Bwipo from FlyQuest was visibly moved to tears. This is the farthest that the organization has advanced in the League of Legends World Championship, marking a significant milestone for them.

Another One Gone

Just four teams are left in the top-tier esports tournament, and it’s been an incredible year for League of Legends. This tournament has mirrored that excellence, with unprecedented viewership numbers during its course. The highly anticipated grand finale, the pinnacle of the event, is still to come.

2024 saw me, as a diehard FlyQuest fan, witness an exceptional journey at Worlds. Our team’s performance was nothing short of commendable, culminating in a hard-earned fifth-place finish on the global stage. Looking back, it’s worth noting that FlyQuest has only managed to reach Worlds a single time before, with our previous appearance ending in a twelfth-place finish.

2024 has been an exceptional year for our team, and it was widely anticipated that they’d progress as far as they have. Just recently, they seized first place at the LCS Summer 2024 tournament, pocketing a $100,000 reward – an amount identical to what they’ve previously earned from Worlds.

In an emotional post-game interview, FlyQuest’s Bwipo said:

It’s tough to stay positive but we made you guys believe. That was the goal.

I’ve got some exciting news, fellow gamers! We’re going to have a brief break from the action for a few days, as we gear up for the semi-finals that will be happening right here in Paris, France. Let’s keep our eyes peeled and fingers crossed for an amazing showdown!

  • Weibo Gaming vs. Bilibili Gaming
  • T1 vs. Gen.G Esports

Team 1 remains the top contender to emerge victorious, yet Team G has been extraordinary so far in this tournament, managing to sweep every series without defeat.
