Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Reveals Patch Notes for New Update

Eric Barone, the creator of Stardew Valley (also known as ConcernedApe), has released a new update for Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. This update fixes important bugs related to crafting, lets players turn off mouse controls completely, and improves how the Switch 2 GameShare feature works. Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition includes everything from the original game, plus better graphics, local multiplayer, and gameplay, but players had been experiencing some bugs that this update addresses.

I still remember when Stardew Valley first came out in 2016 – it was instantly charming with its cute pixel art! Everyone loved it, both players and critics, because of its heartwarming story, the tons of different things you could do, and all the memorable characters. It quickly became one of the best life-sim games ever made. I was so excited to hear it was coming to the Nintendo Switch 2! There were a few bumps in the road with development, but ConcernedApe has promised they’re working hard to make Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition the best it can be, and that really puts my mind at ease.

What is Included in the New Stardew Valley Switch 2 Update?

ConcernedApe recently posted patch notes for the February 2026 update to Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Players began reporting problems shortly after the game launched in December 2025, and the development team quickly started working on fixes. A particularly troublesome bug in the Switch 2 version caused the game to remove the wrong items from players’ inventories, and it took time to resolve. This bug is now fixed with the February update. Other improvements include better mouse controls and a fix that ensures messages about server maintenance appear correctly in multiplayer games.

A recent update for Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition in February 2026 fixed some issues with the Switch 2’s GameShare feature. GameShare lets players share a single game with up to four Switch consoles locally, making it easier to play together. However, Stardew Valley players had been experiencing visual glitches and problems with parental controls when using GameShare. The update resolves these issues, ensuring a smoother and safer co-op experience. The full update is now available for players in the United States.

European and Japanese fans will have to wait a little longer to play Stardew Valley on the Switch 2. The game’s creator, ConcernedApe, wants to make sure all bugs are fixed before releasing the full version in those regions, but says it will happen “in a few weeks.” Some fans remember a long wait between the 1.6 update on PC and its release on consoles, and Switch 2 players are hoping this new version will be smoother and have fewer issues to resolve before they can enjoy the updated version of Pelican Town.

As a huge fan, I’ve been following ConcernedApe and his team closely! They’re juggling a lot right now – fixing things for the Switch 2 version of Stardew Valley, working on the awesome Update 1.7, and developing his next game, Haunted Chocolatier! He’s still doing most of the work on Haunted Chocolatier himself, which is amazing. I’m really excited to hear about what’s next for Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, especially when it’s coming to Europe and Japan, and any future updates they release for the game. I’m keeping an eye out for any news!
