As a dedicated fan who has been following Alan Wake since its inception, I can’t contain my excitement for tomorrow! The upcoming Anniversary Update for Alan Wake 2 not only brings us the highly-anticipated Lake House DLC but also promises community-requested features and a new Gameplay Assist menu.
Tomorrow brings an exciting day for followers of Alan Wake 2, as we will be receiving The Lake House expansion for the horror title, and in celebration of its first anniversary, Remedy is also releasing a fresh update for Alan Wake 2.
For those unwilling to spend additional money on the DLC, rest assured that you’ll receive benefits with the game update since Remedy will incorporate popular community suggestions as well as introducing a new User-Friendly Controls menu, intended to make gameplay more accessible.
Alan Wake 2 Anniversary Update New Features
- Ability to invert the X (horizontal) axis on mouse and controller, and not just the Y (vertical) axis.
- PS5 players can gyro aiming (motion control) support for the DualSense controller. This can be turned on and off, and will allow players to customize the horizontal and vertical sensitivity, set gyro space, and adjust your pitch and yaw preferences.
- Haptics improved for the DualSense, as it will now work with healing items and throwables instead of just weapons.
Regarding the Gameplay Assistance menu, you’ll locate it within the game settings, and it includes several switches or options that can be turned on or off.

It’s unclear if the Anniversary Update will contain any gameplay bug fixes, but we anticipate that it might be included in the list of changes.
I’m optimistic that no fresh issues (bugs) will arise from the latest update. However, since Remedy has been prompt in addressing problems, it’s unlikely to cause any trouble even if something does come up.
