Blizzard has revealed details about the Voidstorm, the last area players will explore in the upcoming Midnight expansion for World of Warcraft. Players will face strange creatures, dangerous enemies, and fierce competition as they fight against Xal’atath and the Devouring Host, bringing the story of World of Warcraft: Midnight to a thrilling conclusion.
It’s nearly midnight in the world of Azeroth, and the latest World of Warcraft expansion comes out on March 2nd. Players will explore four different areas during the game. Two of these – Eversong Woods and Zul’Aman – will be familiar to fans of The Burning Crusade, as they’ve been updated. The other two zones, Harandar and the Voidstorm, are completely new and haven’t been seen in the game before.
It’s Kill or Be Killed in World of Warcraft: Midnight’s Voidstorm
As the release of Midnight approaches, World of Warcraft has revealed detailed information about each zone, and the Voidstorm is proving to be especially dangerous. This hostile realm is where Xal’atath’s Devouring Host operates, but even the creatures living there are in a constant struggle for survival, relentlessly hunting and consuming one another.

In the Midnight campaign, players begin in Eversong Woods and then choose to explore Zul’Aman, Harandar, or join Arator on a trip through classic World of Warcraft zones. Completing all four of these storylines is required before players can find a way to enter the Voidstorm.
Image via Blizzard This new area will be the setting for the end of the current storyline and much of the post-game content in World of Warcraft. Players will follow Arator, Alleria, Lothraxion, and Magister Umbric’s Void Elves as they battle Xal’atath’s army and discover that some of the Domanaar serving the Devouring Host aren’t willing participants. The area also features a wealth of side quests that explore the backstories of key Void Elf characters, the enigmatic Domanaar, and a unique group of Draenei who have evolved separately from the Naaru for millennia.
World of Warcraft: Midnight Endgame Activities in the Voidstorm
The Voidstorm is the final area added in the World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion, so it’s packed with things to do at the endgame. The main activity is called Stormarion Assaults – a fast-paced battle where players defend against endless waves of enemies. Every 30 minutes, players can build defenses in a tower defense-style fight to protect the Singularity Anchor from being destroyed. Completing Stormarion Assaults rewards players with the Stormarion Defender mount, a Kai pet, and materials to help them progress each week.
So, in the Voidstorm, there are two main dungeons you’ll hit. First, there’s Nexus-Point Xenas, which is a must-do for the campaign. You’ll be facing off against Lothraxion there – it’s kinda sad, actually, because he used to be an ally in World of Warcraft, but things have really gone downhill for him. Then there’s the Voidscar Arena, which is seriously messed up. It’s like this cosmic gladiator pit where they snatch fighters from all over the place, and the boss, Overseer Charonus, wants us – the champions of Azeroth – to be the next contestants. It’s a tough one!

A new 40v40 battleground called Slayer’s Rise is being added, and it will connect to the open-world Voidstorm area to allow for large-scale PvP combat.
In World of Warcraft: Midnight, three of the eleven delves are found within the Voidstorm. Shadowguard Point and Sunkiller Sanctum are standard delves, and Torment’s Rise is where you’ll battle Nullaeus, the main boss for delves this season. The Voidspire, the largest of the three raids in Midnight, also stands in the Voidstorm. It will launch with Normal and Heroic difficulties on March 17th, Mythic and Story Mode on March 24th, and become fully available in Raid Finder on March 31st.
