As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must say the Ghost Face Rampage DLC for Hunt Showdown 1896 has got me genuinely excited. Having grown up on the slasher genre, the idea of bringing the iconic Ghost Face into the dark and gritty world of Hunt is a tantalizing prospect. The collaboration between Crytek and Fun World seems to have resulted in a unique take on this beloved character, one that fits perfectly within the 19th-century setting of Hunt.
Fun World’s Ghost Face Rampage expansion for Hunt Showdown, set to release on October 24th, has been confirmed by Crytek. This collaboration arrives just in time for the spooky season on platforms like Steam, Xbox Series S|X, and PlayStation 5, with a price tag of $9.99 or €9.99.
In this expansion for Hunt Showdown, a fresh hunter, known as Ghost Face, is introduced. Additionally, there are two new weapon options: the Hush, which is essentially a Frontier 73C Silencer, and the Whisper, a Bornheim No.3 Silencer. Furthermore, a Life Taker knife has been included as a tool. The creators of the game have mentioned that these weapons in the Ghost Face Rampage pack for Hunt Showdown 1896 are silent, providing players with an advantage in the game’s quick and intense close-quarters combat, which Hunt is known for.

The character has been specifically crafted to blend seamlessly within the 19th-century setting that the story unfolds, offering a fresh perspective on the iconic Ghost Face mask with an entirely original appearance.
For the first time, Hunt: Showdown is teaming up on a horror project in 1896, making it an ideal match as the game prepares to mark the spooky season with its Harvest of Ghosts in-game event. This event runs live until November 25th, 2024.
Stefan Heinrich, Lead Art Director for Hunt, expressed that crafting the character design was captivating due to its need to align with the grimy, ominous atmosphere of the 1890s era Hunt is known for. To illustrate this, he mentioned that the famous mask has been transformed into a hand-carved wooden mask, weathered and cracked, while a tattered, battle-worn duster replaces the robe. Lastly, to complement the appearance, leather holsters and gear have been incorporated, equipping him with tools befitting a 19th-century hunter while preserving his iconic style. We eagerly anticipate that fans of Ghost Face® and Hunt will appreciate the new DLC as much as we did designing it.
