How to Get Safi's Camera in Life is Strange: Double Exposure

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating through intricate narrative-driven games, I must say that Life is Strange: Double Exposure has proven to be quite the challenge. The puzzle to find Safi’s camera at the end of Chapter 2 was one of the longest and most complex so far, but hey, who doesn’t love a good brain teaser?

In Chapter 2 of “Life is Strange: Double Exposure”, the scene concludes with Moses contacting you in distress. It appears Detective Alderman has been assigned to investigate Safi’s untimely demise. Since Max and Moses were there when she passed away, keeping her camera could be problematic as it suggests he might have something to hide, considering it was a murder case.

In essence, he requires Max’s assistance to extricate himself from his predicament. Fortunately, thanks to her recently acquired ability to travel between dimensions, Max is capable of aiding him in navigating through this rather tricky situation. This particular puzzle, however, is quite complex and intricate, making it one of the more challenging ones encountered within the game so far, with numerous stages that might prove difficult to complete if you’re unsure where to search for clues or solutions.

How to Find Safi’s Camera

To locate Safi’s camera by the end of Chapter 2, move to the Living World and position yourself slightly behind Moses’ office. Once there, you can enter his office as usual. Inside, you’ll find Moses constructing a telescope. Talk to him for some hints about Safi’s camera’s location. If you want to discover where he might be hiding it in the Dead World, ask him if he stashes any hidden items or contraband anywhere.

Max will reveal that he owns a concealed electric kettle, but before he can demonstrate this to you, the telescope accidentally topples over on him, prompting Max to inquire if she could lend a hand. Naturally, she does, and before he can show her its location, Moses requests her assistance in finding an Allen wrench first.

Where to Find the Allen Wrench

In Moses’ office, there are two spots that allow you to move between dimensions. One is situated behind where he works on his telescope, close to the counter area at the rear of the room. The other is located upstairs. Utilize either one of these locations to transition to the Dead World so you can retrieve the Allen Wrench.

After a brief interlude, you’ll regain control over Max, standing before the door once more. Head towards the central counter in the office; there you’ll discover an Allen Wrench resting on the surface. Pick it up, then return to the Living World and deliver it to Moses.

After obtaining the necessary item, he can repair his telescope for you to see. He’ll then lead you to where he keeps his kettle, located in a compact cabinet situated beside his desk. However, do remember that you’ll require a key to unlock it. Luckily, he usually leaves the key on the counter, so just pick it up and proceed back to the Dead World. When there, open the cabinet to discover a message hinting at where he stashed the camera – apparently concealed within some sort of safe.

How to Find the Saiph

To locate the “Saiph Star”, you first need to go back to Moses in the Living World and inquire about it from him, since he thought you were referring to the Saiph Star when you asked about a safe. He clarifies that there isn’t a safe in his room, but he believes Max might have meant the Saiph Star. Once Max understands this, she needs to search for the star to find Safi’s camera.

To locate the Saiph Star, first, revert to the World of the Departed and ascend the stairs. Locate the Star Projection Device, usually found near the balcony railing, and activate it. Adjust the stars so they match the painting on the wall (Max will cease observing through the projector once you’ve got it correct). Then, descend the stairs again.

To find the Star, you should look for it when the constellation is correctly aligned. It’s situated at the lower left end of Orion, on the wall. Once Max spots it, she’ll discover a hidden camera behind a grate in the wall – however, she can’t access it until you manage to evade Detective Alderman first.

How to Hide From Detective Alderman

While I’m sneaking around, I stumble upon a hidden camera. Just as I’m trying to figure out what to do, Detective Alderman bursts into the room! In a hurry, I’ve got to find a way back to the Living World, and luckily, there’s an exit right next to the vent in the wall. Once I’m safely out, Max will suggest we distract Alderman with some sort of diversion so she can snatch the camera and make our escape.

The thing you need is a small, annoying Christmas tree ornament that looks like a jingle doll. You can pick it up in the Living World, which you’re currently in. After grabbing it, go upstairs and return to the Dead World using the transition spot available here. Max will put the jingle doll here, causing Alderman to be distracted and investigate. While he’s not looking, swiftly get back to the Living World.

In another dimension, you can monitor his location by repeatedly pressing the ‘pulse’ button (which is labeled ‘E’ on your PC keyboard). After entering the Living World, retrace your steps down to where the camera is and then shift back to the Dead World again. Max will find it necessary to move the delivery boxes aside to access her destination; luckily, she’ll soon uncover a new ability that makes this process much more efficient.

After grabbing the camera, step once more into the Living World before leaving your office for good. Return to the spot where you initially entered the office from outside, then make your way back to the Dead World. Upon arriving there, reunite with Moses. In the game ‘Life is Strange: Double Exposure’, you’ve managed to snatch Safi’s camera and possibly spared Moses from jail time.
