As someone who spends countless hours sitting in front of a screen for work and play, I can truly appreciate the comfort that the Secretlab Ergonomic Recliner Add-On brings to my Secretlab TITAN Evo Series chair. The plushcell memory foam used in both the recliner and the footrest is a game changer for me, providing just enough bounce while still being firm and supportive.
In 2018, I vividly recall the day when I got my first Secretlab chair; prior to that, I had spent nearly 15 years on office chairs with mesh backs, believing they were alleviating my back pain. However, I later realized that these chairs were doing more harm than good. Once I started using the Secretlab 2020 TITAN, I was instantly hooked. This chair offered the firmness I didn’t even know I needed while providing several ergonomic adjustments that catered to my specific requirements, making it a perfect fit for me.
In 2024, I upgraded my 2020 model to the latest 2022 Secretlab TITAN Evo. The new chair offered an enhanced waterfall design that reduced stress on my knees and legs, a wider range of adjustable back support options, and a novel magnetic pillow for improved neck support. This was another significant leap for the gaming chair manufacturer, adding six new Secretlab chairs to our home, all of which are now in use by my family.
As a dedicated gamer, I couldn’t contain my enthusiasm when the company reached out last month, inviting me to test their latest addition – the Secretlab Ergonomic Recliner Add-On. You see, I’ve been deeply immersed in the fabric version of the 2022 Secretlab TITAN Evo, paired with a Secretlab professional footrest. However, one feature that I’ve yearned for to perfect my gaming chair setup was a traditional recliner function – and now, it seems, my wish might just come true!
Secretlab Ergonomic Recliner Add-On Installation
Around three weeks back, a new recliner accessory of mine was delivered. As advertised by Secretlab, the installation process took merely three minutes – a claim that I can now confirm to be accurate.
If you’ve assembled a Secretlab chair before, you might recall how effortlessly straightforward it was. Similarly, the Secretlab recliner extension follows suit, boasting just a handful of rubber fasteners and an easy-to-use clamp and lever setup for installation. The complete installation process is demonstrated in the picture provided above. As you can discern, there are only four fundamental steps involved in setting up this product.
Initially, I turned my chair upside down. To keep the chair base from scratching the wheelbase during this process, I placed the provided protector on the ground underneath it.
The installation process involves simply installing the four rubber inserts shown below.
After securing the rubber cushions, you’ll position the recliner base, connecting it directly to the rubber guards. To begin, lift the attachment bar, slide it into position, and finally detach the velcro safety strap.
Once you’ve finished the previous steps, make sure to properly secure the recliner’s handle. When it’s in its correct position, your installation process will be fully completed.
Once I flipped my chair back over, it was ready for use.
If your legs are longer, you might find it beneficial to move the footrest forward as well. You can see how this is done in the instructional video provided below.

The Secretlab Recliner Add-On Works Just Like Standard Recliners
Secretlab stands out for its meticulous craftsmanship, and their ergonomic recliner accessory follows suit. Constructed using robust steel and premium materials, it aligns with the robustness and stylish aesthetic that runs throughout the Secretlab product range.
Pressing the lever on the recliner will promptly adjust the footrest to your desired angle. I was quite impressed by how responsive the recliner extension proved to be, swiftly moving from a flat 0 degrees to its full 80-degree incline.
To secure the handle and adjust the footrest, you’ll need to apply slight pressure from your legs initially, but as soon as you release the handle, the mechanism swiftly locks in position.
When I’m comfortably upright, I slightly open the leg rest to increase contact with the chair. This helps distribute my body weight better on the chair, reducing strain and preventing discomfort over long periods of sitting. Additionally, this position minimizes my legs from moving excessively, an issue that often leads to knee discomfort as the day goes by, regardless of the chair I’m using.
According to Secretlab, the leg rest offers an infinite range of adjustments, but during use, I found myself settling into approximately four or five primary positions. Interestingly, my selection of these settings largely depended on the recline level I chose for the chair itself. This flexibility means that the leg rest effectively provides a vast array of seating options when using a Secretlab chair, adding an exciting new element to the overall sitting experience.
In a few days, I began using both the ergonomic recliner accessory and the professional footrest from Secretlab together. Now, my legs rest fully against the recliner add-on while my feet stay comfortably on the footrest. This seating arrangement works best for me during office tasks as well as gaming sessions.
The additional ergonomic recliner for Secretlab can effortlessly be attached to the base of either a Secretlab TITAN Evo Series or Classic chair, making the installation process smooth and uncomplicated.
A Plush Piece Of Comfort For My Secretlab Chair
For several months now, I’ve been enjoying the Secretlab professional footrest, and one aspect I adore is the softness of its material. Unsurprisingly, I find the plush design on their ergonomic recliner attachment equally comfortable. This recliner has a firm structure, similar to Secretlab’s chairs, but it also provides a gentle give, making it feel like a conventional rocking chair.
According to Secretlab, the leg rest is equipped with their highly praised PlushCell memory foam, which strikes a perfect balance and is renowned for withstanding extended periods under body weight. This information leads me to assume that the product will endure for years without significant signs of wear and tear; however, only time can truly confirm this.
If there’s one complaint I have, it’s that the leg rest doesn’t quite extend the width of the entire chair, and the ends are not as solid as the middle, causing my legs to sometimes slide off the end of the leg rest or turn outward. At the same time, the design forces me to keep my legs in a more neutral position, which is better for my body.
Secretlab asserts that every detail in their leg rest design is optimized for comfort by addressing pressure relief points. I can confirm that my pressure sensitive areas were adequately supported upon contact with the product. However, being someone with long legs, when the leg rest is fully extended to 80 degrees, the bottom of my legs do not fit comfortably at the end, leaving an area untouched even with the leg rest adjusted to its maximum extension. Fortunately, complete extension is mostly unnecessary as I seldom recline that far in my Secretlab chairs.
Secretlab is recognized for its meticulous engineering in their products, and this attention to detail is evident even in the fabric design of their recliners. The stitching for the base of the product is skillfully concealed beneath the hardware, providing a robust construction that can withstand regular use without tearing. Exposed seams are also carefully crafted for a secure fit. Additionally, the top design of the unit is precisely leveled, so the diagonal lines on the surface do not create any discomfort to your legs while using it.
The Secretlab Ergonomic Add-On – Founder’s Edition
The main distinction between a standard recliner upgrade and the Founder’s Edition lies in its extra cooling gel layer over premium memory foam cushioning (memory foam with plushcell technology) that is covered by the product’s quilted patterned surface. Additionally, the Founder’s Edition comes with an exclusive metal-plated tag.
In simple terms, the Ergonomic Add-On for Secretlab will be delivered in early 2025. The regular Recliner Add-on will cost $199 or £159, whereas the Founder’s Edition is a bit pricier at $249 or £199. You can explore both recliner add-on options on Secretlab’s official website.
