The latest update for Final Fantasy 14, version 7.38, comes at a difficult time for the game. Since November 3rd, North American servers have been hit by DDoS attacks, causing players on the Aether, Primal, Crystal, and Dynamis data centers to unexpectedly lose connection. While these disconnections haven’t lasted long, players have reported losing progress in activities like the Pilgrim’s Traverse deep dungeon due to how often the attacks occur. Thankfully, servers in Europe, Japan, and Oceania haven’t been affected.

Unfortunately, HakJak Studios was closed in December 2023 during a company restructuring, leaving the future of Pigeon Simulator unclear. A representative from HakJak stated the game’s fate was now entirely in tinyBuild’s hands. Finally, in early November 2025, Microsoft announced Pigeon Simulator would be available on Xbox Game Pass, confirming the game was still in development and on track for release.
