Resident Evil Village has a lot of trophies and achievements to unlock, and many of them are tricky to get because they’re hidden or can be missed. If you’re planning to play and want to earn all the achievements, don’t worry – we’ve got a guide to help you get them all!
Here’s a list of all the trophies in Resident Evil Village that you can miss during a single game. This guide shows them in the order you’ll encounter them, so you can get them all without needing to reload old saves or replay sections – helping you get closer to achieving 100% completion.
We’ve listed all missable trophies in the order in which you can get them, chapter-by-chapter.
Goooaaal!
Move the Ball From the Winterses’ Bedroom Into the Study

You can unlock this achievement during the game’s prologue. Once you’ve put Rose to sleep, look down at the bedroom floor. You’ll see a yellow ball – walk into it to start kicking it around. Keep kicking until the ball rolls into the office, which is across from Rose’s crib.

Bookworm
Read Every Single File in the Story
To unlock this achievement, you need to complete the game from beginning to end while collecting all 47 lore files. These files are found by interacting with papers throughout the game, and you can find a complete guide to their locations here:
Timber
Defeat Urias During the First Lycan Attack When You Enter the Village
You won’t be able to unlock this achievement during your initial game. You’ll need to start a New Game Plus. When the lycan attack begins in the village, you’ll encounter Urias, a large lycan wielding a hammer. Defeating him requires stronger weapons available in New Game Plus, such as the grenade launcher and other explosives.
Heretic
Destroy All the Goats of Warding
The Heretic game has an achievement that asks you to find and shoot 20 hidden wooden goats, called Goats of Warding. They’re scattered throughout the game, so finding them all can be tricky! We’ve created a helpful guide that shows you exactly where to find each one, broken down by each chapter.
Get the Ball Rolling
Solve a Labyrinth
There are four Labyrinth Puzzles hidden throughout the game, each in a different location. To solve them, you’ll first need to find a ball, then the puzzle itself. Once you’ve found it, guide the ball through the labyrinth to claim your reward. We’ve created a complete guide to all four puzzles, and we’ll start by showing you how to solve the simplest one.
Okay, so in Castle Dimitrescu, you’ll want to go upstairs to the Opera Hall. Then, check the left corridor – there’s a closet there where you’ll find the Flower Swords Ball. Once you have that, head down to the Merchant’s Room, which is just across from the Hall of the Four down south. That’s where you’ll find the puzzle that goes with the ball – the Labyrinth Puzzle!
Hooligan
Break Every Breakable Window in Castle Dimitrescu in a Single Playthrough
During your time in Castle Dimitrescu, you’ll need to break all the windows. Luckily, there are only 20 in total. We’ll show you where to find them and how many are located in each part of the castle.
- Kitchen x2
- Dining Room x2
- Hallway towards Lady Dimitrescu’s Chambers x2
- Lady Dimitrescu’s Chambers x3
- Courtyard & Hall of Ablution x3
- Opera Hall x3
- Hall of Joy x1
- Atelier x1
Don’t leave Castle Dimitrescu until you’ve unlocked this achievement, otherwise you’ll need to load an older save file or start a new game to get it.
Repairer
Combine a Treasure Into Its Complete Form
As you play, you’ll discover many treasures that you can sell to Duke for Lei. But instead of selling everything right away, you can combine certain treasures in your inventory menu to make them more valuable. Some examples of treasures you can combine include Heisenberg’s Hammer and the Wooden Animal, although the Azure Eye Ring is the simplest to work with.
You can unlock this achievement in Castle Dimitrescu by going to the basement prison area. After unlocking the Special Chambers, you’ll find a small puzzle involving lighting braziers. Completing it will give you an Azure Eye. Next, find the Silver Ring in a drawer on the second floor of the Hall of Pleasure. Combining these two items will earn you the achievement.
Trick Shot
Defeat an Enemy from Long Range with the Sniper Rifle in the Story
Once you’re in the Attic, grab the F2 Rifle – it’s the sniper rifle needed for this achievement. When you exit the Attic onto the Rooftops, you’ll see flying creatures. Just shoot one of them, and you’ll unlock the achievement, because they fly high enough to easily meet the distance requirement.
Squawk Shot
Shoot Down Five Flying Crows in the Story
As you play, you’ll notice crows pecking at the ground, dead bodies, and scarecrows. For one achievement, you need to kill five of them, so don’t scare them away! They appear in several spots around the Village. Using a shotgun is a good way to take out multiple crows quickly – just keep hunting until you’ve killed five.
When You Gotta Go…
Open the Door to Every Outhouse in the Village in a Single Playthrough
To complete this task, you need to locate and open the doors of 10 outhouses scattered around the village. Don’t worry, you won’t see anything embarrassing! You might even discover some hidden items. Finding all of them can be a bit of a challenge, so a complete location guide is available here:
Leader of the Pack
Take Down the Varcolac Alfa in the Story
After you’re done exploring Moreau’s Reservoir, head back to Fallow’s Point – it’s the field near Luzia’s house with all the scarecrows. When you arrive, you’ll face Varcolac, a hidden werewolf boss. He’s very tough, so make sure you have plenty of explosives and ammunition before you try to defeat him.
Medium Rare
Set Fire to a Moroaica in the Story
Once you’ve beaten Moreau, you’ll get the Crank. Use the Crank to lower the drawbridge on the Lone Road, which is west of the Altar. A boat is waiting for you on the other side. Take that boat north through the Mountain Stream, and you’ll reach the Riverbank Treasure House.
Okay, so inside the building, you need to shoot the burning brazier at that unlit pillar on the right. That’ll create a Moroaica. Then, quickly shoot the lit brazier at the Moroaica itself – that’ll set it on fire and unlock the achievement. It’s a little tricky, but totally doable!
Fast Reflexes
Knock a Flaming Arrow Out of the Sky With a Close Combat Weapon in the Story
To complete the ‘Fast Reflexes’ challenge, you need to deflect a flaming arrow with your knife. You can only do this in the Stronghold, which you’ll reach after completing the Moreau’s Reservoir section. As you approach the Stronghold, a werewolf will shoot flaming arrows at you. Equip your knife, then hold down the L1 button (on PlayStation) or LB button (on Xbox) to guard and deflect the arrow when it flies towards you.
Quit Hanging Around
Shoot Down a Soldat Hanging From the Production Line in the Factory
As you enter Heisenberg’s Factory, you’ll notice many corpses being carried away on conveyor belts. These enemies, called soldats, are constantly moving, making them easy to spot. Just look down the factory line and use a grenade launcher to blast them off the belts.
Mapmatician
Complete the Village Map
Okay, so if you’re going for the Mapmatician achievement, you basically need to explore every single nook and cranny of the Village. That means going inside every building, from East Old Town all the way to the Graveyard. Don’t worry, it’s not too bad! If you’re already hunting down all the Goats of Warding and Files, you’ll probably unlock it naturally during the final part of the game.
Artisan & Tinkerer
Collect & Create Every Type of Item Recipe in the Crafting Menu

Resident Evil Village lets you craft 11 different items. Luckily, you’ll usually find the ingredients you need just by exploring and searching rooms. Having Herbs, Gunpowder, Chem Fluid, Rusted Scrap, and Metal Scrap will cover most of your crafting needs. But you’ll also need to learn the recipes themselves, which are detailed here:
Getting the Rocket Pistol adds a bit of extra time to this task. You’ll need to finish the story mode on the hardest difficulty, ‘Village of Shadows,’ to unlock its recipe. Because this difficulty is only available after you beat the game once (in New Game Plus), you won’t be able to earn this until your third playthrough.
