Among the games included in Tetris Forever is none other than the original Tetris, not just any version mind you, but the very first release of this classic title. Interestingly, players of Tetris Forever can experience a variant of Tetris that was initially released for the Electronika 60, a series of Soviet computers where the iconic puzzle game originally made its debut. Furthermore, Digital Eclipse’s collection will offer two other versions of the initial release of Tetris; one that came out on the Famicom in 1988 and another on the Apple II in the same year. It is worth noting that the Famicom version of Tetris has a unique control scheme compared to other adaptations, making it more noteworthy.

Tetris Forever Features Hatris, Super Bombliss, and Other Tetris Spin-Offs

One of the games found in Tetris Forever is Hatris from 1990, a puzzle game similar to Tetris, both of which were created by the Russian software engineer Alexey Pajitnov. Beyond just having Tetris Forever, it also comes with a few additional spin-offs like Tetris Battle Gaiden, a game emphasizing multiplayer aspects, and Super Tetris 3, a title exclusive to Japan for the Super Famicom. To make things even more enticing, Digital Eclipse’s collection will introduce a new game called Tetris Time Warp, which dynamically switches between various versions of Tetris in real-time and supports up to four-player cooperative gameplay. The developers have also hinted that there might be more Tetris games added to Tetris Forever down the line, although specifics about this are yet to be disclosed.
