As a seasoned Dreamlight Valley resident with a soft spot for all things Disney and Halloween, I can’t help but feel the thrill coursing through my veins as the Trick or Treat event returns to our beloved valley. Despite the slight delay from previous years, I find myself embracing the autumnal chill in anticipation of this magical celebration.

The Disney Dreamlight Valley 2024 Trick or Treat celebration has finally started, offering players the opportunity to acquire a special Halloween-themed prize. Although this annual event is arriving slightly later than what some Disney Dreamlight Valley enthusiasts anticipated, it’s back for its third consecutive year, allowing them to participate in some thrilling Halloween festivities.

In December 2023, Disney Dreamlight Valley, the game where players can create their own village with beloved Disney characters, officially launched. However, the Trick or Treat event has been ongoing since its Early Access phase, starting in autumn of 2022. Recently, Gameloft developers have announced ambitious plans for October’s update to Disney Dreamlight Valley. Although the unveiling of the Jungle Getaway content brought players closer to Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King, as well as a new Star Path themed around rock music, the initial plans didn’t include any details about the Trick or Treat event.

An additional announcement about the arrangements for Halloween in Disney Dreamlight Valley was made not long after, with the traditional Trick or Treat festivities commencing on October 23rd as a result. Until the end of the month, gamers can revisit the game’s plaza to gather candy from three distinct colored bowls. By engaging in this yearly event, players will be able to unlock the exclusive item for this season, the Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl. Once obtained, they can craft this unique piece using five pieces of clay and two of each color of candy.

Trick or Treat Returns to Disney Dreamlight Valley for 2024

In this year’s event for Disney Dreamlight Valley, the Halloween Candy Bowl is the sole fresh reward for completing missions, but joining in the Trick or Treat activities offers players additional Halloween-themed items from past years as well. These include three unique Jack-o-Lantern designs, which can be unlocked by consuming progressively more candy; a Mickey Mouse Pumpkin for distributing candy to 10 different villagers, and a Stack of Pumpkins for gathering 100 pumpkins.

Despite not having specific Halloween-themed content, the Jungle Getaway update provided a platform for players to prepare their characters for the upcoming holiday event, by offering character costumes and accessories. This update introduced digital versions of Loungefly backpacks inspired by Disney characters, such as the Mickey BOO backpack that portrays Mickey Mouse as a bedsheet ghost. Players can acquire this specific backpack for free by entering the code DDV2024OOOOO on the Redemption Code input screen until November 20, 2024.
