Monster DNA demo coming as part of Steam Scream Fest

As a seasoned horror game enthusiast with a penchant for the macabre and the twisted, the news of Monster DNA has sent shivers down my spine. Having traversed through numerous haunted mansions, demon-infested forests, and alien worlds, I’ve seen it all… or so I thought. The concept of creating my own monstrosities for mysterious clients is a chilling twist that promises to challenge even the most hardened horror fanatics like myself.

In collaboration with Super Rare Originals, the publishers behind CH757 and Key, have shared fresh updates about Monster DNA, including details on a forthcoming demo.

At the Indie Horror Showcase, it was disclosed that Monster DNA is a single-player psychological horror game. Here, you craft lethal monsters and grotesque aberrations for enigmatic clients. However, take heed – your work may prove to be your undoing. In this sinister laboratory, your survival hinges on your intelligence. Make one false step, and you could meet your demise at the hands of your own creations.

Brace yourself for dealing not just with the terrifying outcomes of what you’ve made, but the ethical implications of crafting such entities. This entails grappling not only with enigmatic customers’ expectations, but also questioning the moral validity of your creations.

In this deeply engaging single-player game, every playthrough offers unexpected anxiety as you strive to evade becoming a victim of your own monstrous creations. To heighten the terror, you’ll be continuously working to address each client’s distinct hurdles and incentives – ensuring that you remain alert throughout your creature-making adventure.

First introduced on the platform itch.io, this game is set to transform into a significantly expanded version by 2025, offering brand new terrifying content and chilling gameplay mechanics. Here are some of its key aspects:

  • Diverse Creations: Discover over 30 unique monsters, each with different combinations of traits and abilities.
  • Extensive Modification: Take control of your creations with body modification options. Alter both their appearance and abilities to make sure your clients are getting what they pay for.
  • Stay Alert: Keep your monsters under control using the safety precautions; or your own creation could be your demise.
  • Varied Playthrough: Each session offers different client demands, challenging you to adapt your strategy to satisfy each new request.
  • Bigger Than Ever: Monster DNA will be greatly improved over the original itch.io release – including all-new content and game mechanics

Monster DNA is coming to PC in 2025, but you can try the demo now on Steam.
