One of Phasmophobia’s First-Ever Maps is Getting a Remake Very Soon

Kinetic Games has revealed that the revamped 6 Tanglewood Drive map for Phasmophobia will launch on March 3, 2026. Players of the ghost-hunting game won’t have to wait much longer for this classic map to receive a major update, though the developers are keeping most of the changes under wraps until release.

Phasmophobia first became available in Early Access in September 2020, and the developers at Kinetic Games have consistently added new content ever since. They’ve done a fantastic job using this period to improve the game with things like new ghost hunting tools and completely new locations. However, after more than five years, some of the original maps now feel a bit old compared to the quality of the newer content. Kinetic Games has started updating these early maps in preparation for the full game release. The Grafton Farmhouse rework launched in August 2025, following the Bleasdale Farmhouse rework in March. The next map on the list to receive an update is 6 Tanglewood Drive.

Kinetic Games announced on their blog that the updated version of the 6 Tanglewood Drive map in Phasmophobia will be released on March 3, 2026. The rework aims to bring all the game’s maps up to a higher standard and make them feel more realistic and inhabited. While the overall layout will remain largely the same to preserve its familiarity, the kitchen has been redesigned to remove a popular hiding spot used during ghost hunts. The developers reassured players that despite this change, there will still be plenty of good places to evade the ghost within the house.

So, Kinetic Games is completely revamping the Tanglewood Drive map in Phasmophobia, and it sounds awesome! They’re saying the house will feel way more lived-in and have a lot more personality. Apparently, there’s going to be a backstory told through the environment itself – little details we’ll have to find and put together. They’ve built a ton of new stuff – props, animations, sounds – to really make the map feel how they originally envisioned it. I’m super excited to explore it and uncover all the secrets!

Because 6 Tanglewood Drive is one of the first maps in Phasmophobia, the developers at Kinetic Games know that any changes to it will likely be controversial. It’s a very popular map, and its small size makes it easy for new players to learn. The developers conclude by saying they believe the changes only enhance what players already love about the map.

Okay, so the big Tanglewood Drive map rework was supposed to drop with the new character update, but that didn’t happen. It was originally planned for the 2025 roadmap, but things got delayed. Now, Kinetic Games is releasing Tanglewood first, and they’re splitting the update into two parts. They say the character update won’t be too far behind, which is awesome! It sounds like we’re really making progress towards the full 1.0 release, and they’re aiming for 2026 – finally! I’m getting hyped!
