ARC Raiders’ Newest Location Is Filled With High-Value Loot, But There’s a Catch

A new update, called Shrouded Sky, is now available for ARC Raiders on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It includes new enemies, a dangerous new map feature, and changes to Dam Battlegrounds. Dam Battlegrounds now has an area with valuable loot, but it’s locked behind a door that requires four players to unlock.

The recent ‘Shrouded Sky’ update for ARC Raiders added a lot of new content, but also included several balance changes and nerfs that players aren’t pleased with. While the developers at Embark did reduce the power of commonly used weapons like the Kettle and Stitcher to bring them in line with stronger guns like the Bobcat, fans are confused by other changes. Specifically, crafting requirements for items like Deadlines and Wolfpacks have been increased, which many players feel was an unnecessary adjustment.

ARC Raiders Adds New High-Value Loot Room That Requires Teamwork to Open

Despite some debate around recent game tweaks, the newest update to ARC Raiders offers some exciting additions for players. If you often play in Dam Battlegrounds, you might have noticed a new, valuable area on the map. The Controlled Access Zone is now open and located on the north side, between the Underpass and Power Generation Complex. It’s packed with high-quality loot, but there’s a challenge: a locked room requires four players to press buttons simultaneously, encouraging teamwork to gain access, as shared by ARC Radar on Twitter.

According to ARC Radar, players will start by finding a battery to open the first room. Then, they’ll need to press four buttons at the same time to unlock a second door. Since ARC Raiders only lets squads have three players, you’ll need to ask another player for help. If you can team up with someone, you can use a Motor to open the final door. However, it seems there’s more than one way to open that last door, and a Motor isn’t always the solution. Once it’s open, though, you’ll find lots of weapon cases and valuable loot.

Playing ARC Raiders alone can be challenging, and your experience will likely differ depending on whether you prefer playing against environment (PvE) or other players (PvP). Despite the developers saying there are no ‘safe’ lobbies, many players avoid conflict and focus on defeating the ARC enemies instead of each other. This often results in lobbies filled with players who share that same cooperative approach. If you find yourself in one of these lobbies, you should be able to team up with a few others and access the new area in Dam’s Controlled Access Zone.

Today’s Shrouded Sky update introduces dangerous new enemies called ARC units, so players need to be careful! The Firefly is like a Hornet, but it breathes fire, making it a serious threat. The Comet is even tougher – some players are calling it a more powerful version of Pops. It’s heavily armored and will explode violently if it targets you. While you can defeat them with the right gear, it’s usually best to avoid these enemies and sneak past them when possible.
