In Starsand Island, you’ll find lots of materials for building your farmhouse, and one of the first you’ll need is Carbon Line. The game doesn’t tell you where to get it, but it’s actually quite easy! As long as you have the correct tool and a few basic ingredients, collecting Carbon Line in Starsand Island is simple, even for new players.
Carbon Lines aren’t essential items in Starsand Island right now, as they don’t have many uses in the current version of the game. But, because you’ll need them to make a weapon, increase your inventory space, and finish some quests, it’s a good idea to collect them as soon as you can. This guide will show you how.

How to Get Carbon Lines
The best way to get Carbon Lines in Starsand Island is by crafting a Spinning Wheel. This allows you to make as many Carbon Lines as you want by combining Fiber and Charcoal.
Carbon Line Recipe
- Fiber (4)
- Charcoal (1)
You can obtain Fiber by cutting down bushes, and Charcoal is made using the Charcoal Kiln. The blueprint for the Spinning Wheel is available for purchase at Zerine’s General Store from the beginning of the game. Besides Carbon Lines, the Spinning Wheel can also create Hemp Ropes and Fishing Lines.
You can create a Spinning Wheel and begin making Carbon Line with just five Softwood Planks. A level-one Worktable can also be used to craft it, making things easier.
Other Ways to Obtain Carbon Lines

A few of the islanders will even give them to you as gifts now and then, or as a reward for helping them out with requests and quests. But it’s a bummer that none of the shops actually sell them! Honestly, the quickest and cheapest way to get a good supply is just to make them yourself on your farm – that’s what I do!
Best Way to Use Carbon Lines
Image via Seed Sparkle Lab Carbon Lines are really helpful for getting more space in your Starsand Island bag. To expand it, open the bag expansion menu – you can do this by clicking “Expand” in your inventory or pressing the View button on your controller. You won’t need Carbon Lines for every upgrade, but they are required to reach the second upgrade level.
Carbon lines are really useful for making a Plume Bow, which is the first bow you can unlock by completing quests on Starsand Island. You can also use them to create decorative items and fulfill requests from people in town.
