In the most recent installment of “Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War”, Shunsui Kyoraku, who has just been promoted to Commander of the Gotei 13, ventures into the subterranean prison beneath Squad 1’s barracks, known as the Muken. Inside, while Captain Ukitake negotiates with a deity, Mimigahi, to save the Soul Society, Shunsui strikes a pact with the devilish figure, Sousuke Aizen. Just before releasing Aizen from his restraints, Kyoraku addresses him and requests his assistance in the Gotei 13’s struggle against Yhwach. Shunsui realizes that no one else is as potent as Aizen except for Ichigo, and they are in dire need of reinforcements.

For two years now, Aizen remains sealed following his intense clash against Dangai Ichigo, orchestrated by Kisuke Urahara. Even so, he stands on a plane far higher than any combatant, save for Ichigo and Yhwach. Though Aizen has always surpassed ordinary Shinigami, his union with the Hogyouku infused him with power beyond what any other character in the Bleach universe possesses.

An Anomaly, A Being Beyond Any Other

At the time of Sousuke Aizen’s birth, a disruption occurred in the equilibrium of souls. In every aspect, Aizen was an extraordinary anomaly, seemingly defying existence itself. From his very infancy, he surpassed all other Shinigami in ability. Yet, he masterfully concealed this, and joined the Shinigami Academy and later became a member of the Gotei 13 under Shinji Hirako, serving as vice-captain of Squad 5. After conducting Hollowfication experiments that devastated the lives of future Vizored Shinigami, Aizen ascended to captain of Squad 5, with Momo Hinamori later becoming his vice-captain. Wielding Kyouka Suigetsu as his Zanpakutou, he orchestrated a ruse of his own demise and betrayed the Gotei 13, slaughtering every member of the Central 46. He then regained his Hogyouku and escaped to Hueco Mundo, accompanied by captains Gin Ichimaru and Kaname Tosen.

In the Fake Karakura Town storyline, Aizen individually overpowered every member of the Gotei 13 squad, except for ex-Commander Yamamoto. He accomplished this without employing intricate spiritual abilities or even his Bankai (if he possesses one). The only opponent Aizen perceived as being comparable in power was Yamamoto. To tackle him, Aizen developed a powerful Arrancar named Wunderweiss Margera.

Subsequently, he undergoes a transformation into an extraordinarily powerful entity, merging with the Hogyouku. With relative ease, he engages in combat against Urahara, Isshin Kurosaki, and Yoruichi Shihouin. Simultaneously, his metamorphosis continues. Once reaching a new stage of evolution, his power becomes so immense that it obliterates any human who approaches him. Following a treacherous act by Gin Ichimaru, he undergoes another transformation. In a final, monstrous form, he clashes with an evolved Ichigo. Despite being struck by Ichigo’s Final Getsuga Tenshou: Mugetsu, he endures. Ultimately, Urahara seals him away, and the new Central 46 imposes a sentence of 18,800 years of confinement within Muken.

Apart from his immense might, Aizen appears to be virtually indestructible and immortal, capable of withstanding any harm inflicted upon him.
