World of Warcraft: Midnight – Where to Find the Rookery Cache

One thing is clear about World of Warcraft: Midnight – Silvermoon City has received a fantastic and much-needed makeover.

Okay, I might be a little biased because I love The Burning Crusade, but it’s great to finally see those classic areas getting updated and looking their best.

Honestly, one of my favorite things about exploring now is finding treasure. It doesn’t just feel like a checklist thing for achievements either – you actually get cool stuff! And with housing being a big part of the game, some of these treasures let you decorate your place, which is awesome.

Yes, Xal’atath is a huge danger that could wipe out everything, but right now, things like housing and cosmetic items – even pets – seem to be the priority. By the way, if you’re interested in pets, completing the Treasures of Eversong Woods achievement will get you the Sooftpaw pet. To do that, you’ll need to find and open the Rookery Cache.

This guide will show you how to locate the Rookery Cache, open it, and the rewards you’ll receive.

Finding and Unlocking the Rookery Cache in World of Warcraft: Midnight

Let’s start with the location: even though it’s for the Treasures of Eversong Woods achievement, the Rookery Cache isn’t actually in Eversong Woods. You’ll find it in Silvermoon City at coordinates 24, 69. Now, let’s talk about how to get there.

This map shows the view from inside the Wayfarer’s Rest inn. Reaching the location on the map is fairly straightforward – it’s a direct flight to the left. However, there’s a twist: when you reach coordinates 24.69, you’ll discover you need to gain altitude and fly upwards above Silvermoon City, not just across it.

Get back on your mount and take to the skies! You might get a little lost, and that’s perfectly normal. If that happens, the easiest thing to do is fly back to the city, turn around, and then head towards the Spire with the blue light.

The most difficult part is now behind us. From now on, everything should be easy because all the necessary resources are readily available and close together.

The Rookery Cache is currently locked, so we need to find the key to open it. First, head to Farstrider Aerieminder, the character to your right, and buy some Tasty Meat from her. Then, look to the left of the cache – you’ll see a small Chick that wants the meat. There’s a dish underneath the Chick; click on it to feed the Chick, and it will drop the key you need.

If the interactive dish does not show up, log out and back in. This is a known bug.

Loot the key, then make the short walk back to the Rookery Cache to open it.
