As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that Black Ops 6 Zombies has outdone itself yet again. The Cursed Talisman quest is a thrilling treasure hunt that takes us on an adventure across Terminus Island, reminiscent of the days when Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda first graced our screens.

In Black Ops 6 Zombies, there’s another hidden achievement up for grabs, and it takes players on a pirate treasure hunt for a long-deceased sea captain. Not only will they receive a trophy to display, but also a Cursed Talisman that grants them a permanent Double Points bonus throughout the rest of the game.

In the Black Ops 6 Zombies map known as Terminus Island, players embark on an exciting adventure where they search for pirate treasures and get embroiled in the tragic destinies of a group of mutineers. This is one of several hidden quests in Terminus, adding to the fun and mystery that has been discovered thus far.

Acquire Melee Macchiato and Find the Captain’s Quarters

To initiate this side mission, players should first locate the Melee Macchiato version of Perk-a-Cola, which can be found on the lower level of the Bio Lab. Upon obtaining it, navigate towards the Sea Caves. At the back of Speed Cola’s Perk Machine, you will find a damaged wall with hanging rocks; attack this wall to break it open. Inside, Captain Greg’s skeleton will start conversing with you and point out a specific location on the map near his left shoulder.

Find the Watch Location From the Treasure Map

For each player, their personal adventure begins with a random destination indicated on Captain Gregg’s treasure map. Yet, locating the treasure isn’t difficult – simply search for the red X mark on the map, then board a boat and sail out to sea. To confirm your location, compare the details from Captain Gregg’s map with those displayed in your own map, which you can access by clicking the middle tab within the game options screen.

When players reach the designated spot marked ‘X’, they should submerge themselves in the water and search for a yellow glow emanating from the ocean floor. They will find a Watch there, which they can collect. Upon retrieving it, they can return to Captain Gregg and engage him in conversation to initiate further dialogue.

Acquire Molotovs and Burn Captain Gregg’s Crewmates

Captain Gregg has assigned players with the grim task of cremating the remains of the deceased crew members who betrayed him. To accomplish this, players will require Molotov cocktails. These Molotovs can be obtained by killing zombies or by spending 350 Salvage at a Crafting Table for guaranteed acquisition. Once players have amassed three Molotovs, they should proceed to designated locations on three distinct islands. Upon arrival at each island, players will come across a skeleton; here, the Molotov can be thrown to summon a Mangler. After defeating the Mangler, it will drop a Cursed Coin that must be collected. Here are all the Cursed Coin locations:

  • Castle Rock Island – Take a boat to the East island known as Castle Rock Island. Follow to the right of the GobbleGum machine and find the remains of a skeleton buried in the sand. Throwing a Molotov spawns Eridicad that must be killed.
  • Shipwreck – Travel West on the boat to the Shipwreck, and on the center mast there will be a skeleton lying against it. Throw the Molotov at it to spawn and kill Krixbia.
  • Temple Island – North West, in the upper left corner of the map, there will be Temple Island. Sail here and the skeleton can be found lying on a rock between the dip in the middle rock. Throw the Molotov to spawn Noctoomi.

After defeating every Mangler that appears and collecting 3 Cursed Coins from them, return to the Sea Cave and talk to Captain Gregg. He will reward players with a trove of Legendary weapons, each containing random attachments and a diverse range of weapon types. His treasure map indicates a red X mark on South Island, specifically Crab Island.

Survive 3 Rounds on Crab Island

How to Get the Cursed Talisman

Spend three rounds exploring Crab Island, which lies south of Terminus Island. After three consecutive rounds on this island, a golden chest will appear, nestled between the wall-buy and the ammo crate. By interacting with this chest, you’ll find the Cursed Talisman inside. Obtaining the Cursed Talisman grants you the Treasure Hunter achievement and a special Power-Up.

Throughout the entire game, the Haunted Amulet can be equipped, granting players bonus Double Experience for each kill they make. However, should a player encounter a zombie, there’s a chance they might lose a portion of their accumulated points – this could be anywhere from 5% to 15%, or potentially even more. Given its risky nature, the Haunted Amulet is not for the faint-hearted. If players choose to discard it, they won’t have access to it in their subsequent games either, as it goes back into the treasure chest.
