As a Marvel fan who’s been following the MCU since its inception, I can confidently say that 2025 is shaping up to be an incredible year! With six new Disney+ shows on the horizon, it seems like Marvel Studios is determined to keep us entertained and engaged.

As a passionate gamer, I can’t contain my excitement as Marvel Studios unveils its Disney+ roadmap for 2025! Six fresh shows are set to grace our screens, a tantalizing blend of live-action and animation. Some familiar faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be back, ready to captivate us once more!

2025 marks a significant year for Marvel Studios on Disney+ as they are set to release more than two television series, marking a departure from the previously announced plan to reduce volume and produce around two shows per year. Since 2019, Marvel has been consistently expanding its TV lineup, starting with five series in their first year – WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, and What If…?. By 2024, they had released a total of twelve shows, some even featuring multiple seasons. Despite the initial plan to slow down production, it seems Marvel Studios is bucking that trend in 2025.

Marvel Studios Announces 2025 Disney+ Shows

A fresh trailer from Marvel Studios unveils various Disney+ releases scheduled for the MCU in the future. The studio is wrapping up 2024 with the debut of “What If…? Season 3,” which includes episodes starring characters such as Shang-Chi and Blade. In addition, Marvel has planned three animated series to launch in 2025, including the Peter Parker prequel titled “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man“, the adult-themed “Marvel Zombies“, and the Black Panther anthology series “Eyes of Wakanda“. Furthermore, the studio will release three live-action MCU series in 2025, including “Daredevil: Born Again“, the spin-off series based on Riri Williams titled “Ironheart“, and “Wonder Man” starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

In the trailer for all seven Disney+ shows, fresh footage was presented. Among these, the announcement of “Wonder Man,” a series with few details disclosed thus far, stood out. This series is the creation of Destin Daniel Cretton, director of “Spider-Man 4” and “Shang-Chi,” and Andrew Guest serves as producer for it. The upcoming “Wonder Man” series promises to be a humorous superhero production, with Abdul-Mateen II portraying Simon Williams, a thespian and stuntman who acquires superpowers and transforms into the titular hero, Wonder Man.

First Wonder Man Footage Revealed

The first footage in the Disney+ trailer shows Simon Williams entering a casting office where he prepares to audition for the role of Wonder Man. Williams says “I was born to play this character,” and is seen alongside Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery, another character who is a known actor within the MCU. Kingsley was last seen in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but it makes sense he would appear in another MCU series that features on-screen actors. It appears Wonder Man will position Williams and Slattery as an unlikely duo, with the two getting into a car chase at one point in the footage. “We’ve both got a lot riding on this, you’d better not mess this up,” Slattery says. It’s unclear what the pair’s plan is, but judging by the short snippet shown Wonder Man does seem to be taking advantage of its comedy genre. The series will be Marvel’s last Disney+ release of 2025.

Marvel’s Disney+ schedule for 2025 promises a busy year following a relatively subdued period. After the January debut of “Echo” on Disney+, the only MCU cinematic release in 2022 was “Deadpool & Wolverine” in July. By the end of October, we’ll see the finale of “Agatha All Along”. To compensate for the slow pace, Marvel plans to roll out six new streaming series and three theatrical releases in 2025.
