Mortal Kombat 1 Ghostface Gameplay Revealed

As a long-time fan of both Mortal Kombat and the Scream series, I must say, NetherRealm Studios has truly outdone themselves with the introduction of Ghostface to Mortal Kombat 1. The mystery surrounding the identity behind that iconic mask is what makes Ghostface such an intriguing character, and it’s fascinating to see how they’ve managed to incorporate this aspect into the gameplay.

On the spooky occasion of Halloween, NetherRealm Studios unveiled a sneak peek into the gameplay featuring Ghostface in Mortal Kombat 1. This exciting gameplay demonstration was shared by one of the franchise’s co-creators, Ed Boon, on various social media platforms.

Ghostface, a character you might not be familiar with, serves as the primary villain in the well-liked Scream movie series. One of its standout aspects is that the individual wearing the mask varies among the films; in fact, over the course of the movies, 14 different people have donned the Ghostface costume.

In the video you’ll find just below, Ghostface squares off against Johnny Cage. Both characters use unique voice modulators to conceal their identities, and they are armed with knives.

Starting from November 19, Ghostface is set to debut in Mortal Kombat 1 for early access members. For all other players, they’ll have the chance to engage in combat starting November 26.

In September 2023, Ghostface was added as the newest character to the Mortal Kombat game, making him the tenth new fighter since its release. He is included in the Kombat Pack 2, with more characters such as Conan the Barbarian and T-1000 from Terminator 2 expected to join the Mortal Kombat 1 roster in the future.

NetherRealm has yet to reveal the release dates for their upcoming titles, and it’s still uncertain if we can expect a Kombat Pack 3 in the future as well.
