Vampire Survivors: How to unlock Ode to Castlevania characters

Vampire Survivors: How to unlock Ode to Castlevania characters

As a seasoned Castlevania connoisseur with countless hours spent battling the undead, I must say that this guide is as comprehensive as a Dracula’s library! Each character’s journey is unique, much like our own lives, filled with challenges and evolutions.

Vampire Survivors boasts characters that are reminiscent of familiar faces, skillfully avoiding any legal entanglements. However, with the addition of the new Ode to Castlevania DLC, every major character from the series makes an appearance. This collection includes characters from classic platform games like Simon and Trevor Belmont, as well as heroes from Metroidvania adventures such as Soma and Shanoa.

Similar to other DLC packs, Vampire Survivors isn’t straightforward about winning allies. Often, the initial character serves as a hint, but from there, you must complete a task to unlock subsequent characters. To ensure you can buy everyone when they become available, it’s wise to accumulate lots of gold coins in advance. Here, we provide details on all the characters and methods for unlocking them.

Vampire Survivors: How to unlock Ode to Castlevania characters

In this game called “Vampire Survivors Ode to Castlevania”, there are 21 characters you can unlock right from the start. Each character has a unique condition, such as completing each level to find boss runes, enhancing a character’s default weapon, or opening new coffins. For example, some characters come with specific starting weapons, and their stats improve with every rank increase. Additionally, each character has a special ability that can alter the way you play them. Characters like Richter and Alucard are more durable compared to inexperienced hunters such as Grant Danasty or Jonathan Morris.

As a gamer, I find that many of the characters I unlock are from the Belmont lineage, each wielding a distinct whip weapon. Yet, it’s not just the Belmonts who make a significant impact; characters like Charlotte Aulin and the two descendants of Belnades with their magical tomes also take center stage. There are also relentless individuals determined to put an end to Dracula for good, and they join the fray, armed with traditional weapons such as swords and spears.
