A recent LEGO lighthouse built by a fan demonstrates the amazing potential of LEGO building. While many LEGO enthusiasts enjoy assembling official sets, a lot of them go even further by creating their own impressive designs, known as MOCs (My Own Creations). This lighthouse is a fantastic example of that creativity.
LEGO enthusiasts regularly share their latest creations online, especially on platforms like Reddit. These builds come in all shapes and sizes, often inspired by popular franchises. You can easily find amazing custom LEGO models based on things like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter. But some builders prefer to create original designs, focusing on real-world subjects like lighthouses and other everyday scenes.
LEGO Fan’s Lighthouse Build Features a Working Windmill and Moving Waves
A Reddit user named RED_DEMON907 recently shared their impressive lighthouse build. The design featured a classic red and white striped lighthouse alongside a windmill, all set against a rocky coastline. What really made the build stand out wasn’t just the lighthouse itself, but the details. The lighthouse had a working revolving light, and the windmill’s blades actually spun. Even more impressively, the builder animated the water using blue blocks to create the illusion of ocean waves.

Since posting the creation on Reddit, LEGO fans have responded very positively. The post has already received almost 1,000 upvotes, and many people are curious about how RED_DEMON907 made the waves work. Luckily, the creator quickly shared a photo explaining the effect, as well as a picture of the lighthouse’s lighting wiring. These details made the build popular, and one fan even said it would be a great addition to their LEGO city.
There is a LEGO Ideas Lighthouse
LEGO has released an official lighthouse set before, called the “Motorized Lighthouse.” It was a LEGO Ideas set featuring a lighthouse on a rocky base and, like a recent fan build, included a rotating light. The official set cost $299.99, had over 2,000 pieces, and came with minifigures. However, this new lighthouse creation stands out thanks to its added windmill and a particularly realistic wave effect.
It’s great to see LEGO fans sharing their builds online, which often inspires others to get creative! Besides a fantastic lighthouse created by RED_DEMON907, Reddit has recently featured many interesting fan-made LEGO set ideas submitted to the Ideas program. Although only a small number of these designs are chosen to become official LEGO sets each year, that doesn’t stop fans from sharing incredible creations – like a detailed LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants model with a Krusty Krab!
As a LEGO fan, I love being able to build whatever I can dream up, but sometimes it’s awesome to just follow the instructions and build an official set. 2026 has already been a great year with the first LEGO Pokemon sets dropping, and honestly, there’s so much more coming! We’re getting new Star Wars sets soon, plus tons of cool original builds people are sharing online. Seriously, the rest of 2026 is looking incredible for LEGO fans like me!
