I’m so hyped for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls! They just revealed Peni Parker will be a playable character, which is awesome. And during the Arc World Tour Finals, they announced a new team called The Amazing Guardians! What really stands out to me is the cool Japanese-inspired designs they’re giving to our favorite Marvel heroes. They’re even including some of the more obscure characters, like Danger, which I think is really cool. With the game coming out in just a few months, I’m expecting a ton more news and reveals soon – I can’t wait!

Peni Parker Joins the Amazing Guardians Team in Marvel Tokon
The newest trailer for Marvel Tokon revealed Peni Parker as the latest hero joining the game. This version of Peni’s SP//dr mech suit is different from those seen in Marvel Rivals and the Spider-Verse movies. It’s larger and doesn’t have traditionally connected limbs; instead, it uses electromagnets to hold everything together. The top of the mech is open, letting Peni control it and allowing the suit to change shape and adapt during battles, giving it a lot of personality.
Fans trying to predict team line-ups found Star-Lord to be an odd fit, considering his space-faring background with the Guardians of the Galaxy and the current character roster. However, it’s now revealed that this version of Star-Lord from Marvel Tokon will be teaming up with Spider-Man, Peni Parker, and Ms. Marvel in a new group called the Amazing Guardians. The latest trailer also showed off new scenes, including Star-Lord summoning his ship, The Milano, and introduced a cosmic location called The Middle of Knowhere, which should be recognizable to long-time Marvel fans from comics, shows, games, and the MCU.

The latest trailer revealed more about the game’s story, including a mysterious character called Xirena Awhina, nicknamed ‘The Promoter.’ She’s an ancient alien who travels the galaxy creating exciting competitions. In this instance, she’s brought together Earth’s heroes and villains for a tournament that will determine the planet’s future, as explained by producer Takeshi Yamanaka in a recent blog post.
Yamanaka also shared updates on the latest version of Marvel Tokon. Player feedback from previous beta tests has been used to improve the game, with changes like dedicated buttons for special moves, quicker character switching, and more. Players will be able to build their own teams, and the game will even create a team name based on the characters chosen, drawing from Marvel’s history. The ring announcer will announce these team names during matches, adding to the experience.
