How to Beat Titan & Gigantic Titan in Crimson Desert

Once you repair the old lightning machine during the “Ancient Barrier” quest in Pailune’s Scorched Mountain, you can travel to Windsong Peaks and find Titan, the God of Thunder.

Taking on this god-level boss is a tough challenge, so here’s a breakdown of what you need to prepare, and how to successfully navigate all three phases of the fight. The Titan has two main forms, but the second – the Gigantified Titan – is more complex and demanding. You’ll find a detailed guide to defeating both forms below.

Before you can battle Titan, you need to finish enough Faction Quests in Pailune to unlock “The Jackal’s Scheme” quest from the Stjar Clan in Skallcove. After that, you can begin “The Clue for Chaos,” also found in Skallcove.

What to Bring Before Fighting Titan in Crimson Desert

  • As always, Palmar Pills and Meat Skewers/Brasied Meat are essential for boss fights, as these will ensure you can outheal his damage, regain Spirit, and of course, revive yourself from death.
  • Turning Slash is a must-have combat skill thanks to how you’re immune while using it, and the damage is pretty great.
  • Stamina investment is extremely important for this fight, as you’ll be dodging around to avoid his lightning attacks, and you’ll need to either climb or spam R2 attacks in his final phase.

How to Beat Titan in Crimson Desert

Titan Phase #1

  1. Use Turning Slash (R1+R2) and Blinding Flash Finisher (L1+R1+R2) as your primary attacks.
  2. You should only attack when Titan is charging up his slow attacks or resting between his own hits.
  3. Titan will utilize stomps with his feet if you get too close, which are easy to dodge with a roll.
  4. Titan also deploys lightning attacks from his spear, which can be evaded with a roll.
  5. Your main attack pattern should be: Turning Slash (heavy damage + immunity), then Focus to build Spirit, and repeat until his blue health bar drains.

Titan Phase #2

  1. The attack phase remains the same for phase 2: Use Turning Slash, Blinding Flash, and Focus to keep up your aggression and hard-hitting strikes between Titan’s own attacks.
  2. Titan’s attack patterns are still slow and easy to dodge, but he will employ some new moves.
  3. One such move is an invulnerable lightning attack where he will engulf the arena in lightning strikes.
  4. To avoid this attack, spam dodge and avoid the glowing blue areas that indicate the strike, and spam healing to ensure you’re not killed.

The Titan fight seems like it has two parts, but there’s actually a third. If you fail during this final phase, don’t worry – you’ll restart from the Gigantified Titan stage, not all the way back at the beginning.

How to Beat Gigantified Titan in Crimson Desert

  1. Ignore efforts to climb Gigantified Titan.
  2. Roll out of the way of Gigantified Titan’s spear attacks until he slams his fist on the floor.
  3. Move around his armored fist to the side with the exposed skin and attack it.
  4. Attacking Gigantified Titan’s skin is the only way to cause damage.
  5. R2 attacks and Turning Slash deal great damage, and will eventually stun him.
  6. Once stunned, you can get a few more hits in without worrying about his attacks.
  7. Repeat this process until Gigantified Titan finally dies.

Alternative Way to Beat Gigantified Titan

  1. When Gigantified Titan slams his fist on the floor, you can climb his gauntlet and hold on with R2.
  2. Once his arm stabilizes in the air, run to his left arm and hold on to it.
  3. Now, use Jump + Triple Force Palm and Flight to get to his back.
  4. On the back of Gigantified Titan’s neck, you can find his weakspot covered in chains.
  5. By breaking the chains and stabbing the weakspot, Gigantified Titan will fall.

I’ve been playing the early access version of Crimson Desert, and honestly, the climbing feels a little glitchy right now. My advice for taking on that boss? Skip trying to climb him and just focus on attacking his hands – it’s way more reliable!

All Titan Rewards in Crimson Desert

Defeating Titan will reward you with the Reckoning, a powerful two-handed spear, and the Lightning Bolt Plate Armor.

  • The Lightning Bolt Plate Armor is not good, as it cannot be upgraded and has a default Defense of 14. It also can’t have Abyss Gears. However, the natural Lightning Resistance Lv 7 makes it practically the best armor for lightning enemies.
  • The Reckoning Spear is exceptional. Not only is the damage and attack speed great for a Level 3 Two-Handed Weapon, but it also has 5 Abyss Gear Slots, and Lightning God’s Affliction, which will cause lightning to strike an enemy after you parry them with L1.
