Turnali’s Request Quest Walkthrough & Fine Timber Location – Crimson Desert

In Crimson Desert’s Hernand Town, you can find a quest on the quest board called ‘Turnali’s Request.’ Turnali, the town’s blacksmith, needs a woodcutter to collect some Fine Timber. This guide will show you where to find Turnali, how to chop down trees, and what you’ll earn for finishing this Crimson Desert side quest.

How to Find Turnali in Crimson Desert

Smithy Location

You can see Turnali’s location in the images below. To find him yourself, open your map and go to the Quests section. Look for the gray and white crest icon – hovering over it will give you information about the ‘Turnali’s Request’ side quest. Clicking the ‘Set Destination’ button (A on Xbox, X on PlayStation 5) will give you directions to his smithy.

After you locate him, press and hold the LB/L1 button, then select ‘Listen to Request.’ He’ll ask you to use a Logging Axe to chop down trees and collect Fine Timber.

How to Cut Down Trees with the Logging Axe in Crimson Desert

Chop, Chop, Chop

Before you start looking for trees, make sure you equip the Logging Axe you received from the blacksmith. You can do this by going to your inventory and selecting the axe, or by using the directional pad to highlight your gloves and then pressing LT or RT (L2/R2) to switch to the axe.

To find the trees, head southeast out of town – you should see a few. To chop them down, hold the LB (L1) button and then attack with RB (R1). Don’t worry if you don’t get wood right away – you have to keep chopping at the trunk until it actually turns into a resource. We were a little confused by that part at first!

Once you get the three pieces of Fine Timber for Turnali, you can return to his shop.

Just so you know, improving your axe doesn’t let you collect more wood. You can also speed up tree chopping with Force Palm, which you’ll learn as you play the main story. When a tree section breaks apart, it gives you three pieces of fine timber.

What’s the Reward for Completing Turnali’s Request in Crimson Desert?

After you give Turnali the Fine Timber, he’ll reward you with a Bekker Shield, ten pieces of Timber, and a Smithy Flyer. To complete the quest, open and read Turnali’s Flyer from your inventory, then talk to him again to upgrade the Bekker Shield and improve its defense.
