As a seasoned Apex Legends player with countless hours under my belt, I must say that the announcement of Season 23 and the return to the original map has me absolutely thrilled! The “From the Rift” theme promises to take us back to the roots of this fantastic battle royale game. The Launch Royale mode, featuring original Legends, weapons, and abilities, will undoubtedly bring a sense of nostalgia that I can’t wait to relive.


Apex Legends Season 23‘s trailer has been unveiled by Respawn and EA, bringing the exciting news that the classic game map will make a comeback.

Titled “Starting from the Fissure”, the fresh season commences on November 5, introducing the novel Launch Royale game mode which transports players back to the initial World’s Edge.

Jump back into the thrill of Apex Legends’ early days! Respawn invites you to revisit the initial Launch Royale drop and battle it out with the original Legends, weapons, and other elements. Supercharge your loadout using overpowered weapons and abilities from Rift Relics. Revive the action with Lifeline, and discover her new abilities. Sharpen your combat skills with the Raptor’s Claw universal melee cosmetic!

On the PlayStation Blog, it was announced by Respawn Senior Community Manager Amy Thiessen that the upcoming mode will include the original weapons, abilities, characters (legends), rules, and additional features.

Apex Legends Season 23 Updates

Lifeline Update

  • Combat Glide: Hold Jump mid-air to use to D.O.C. to briefly glide, and deploy D.O.C. to revive teammates, leaving Lifeline free to defend.
  • D.O.C. Heal Drone: D.O.C. heals nearby allies. D.O.C. can be assigned to follow allies once deployed.
  • D.O.C. Halo: throw D.O.C. to activate Halo Shield System. All players inside use Health & Shield consumables faster

Rift Relics

Emerging out of an ever-changing rift in the sky, mysterious Rift Relics alter our world to bestow desirable objects seemingly out of thin air. Grab hold of the EPG-1 Launcher, boasting splash damage and rocket-jumping potential, and let loose with extraordinary enhancements like Lifesteal, which restores health on every strike. Support Class Perks

Heal Expert

  • Move at full walk speed while healing
  • Healing amount from small meds is doubled

Revive Expert

  • 25% faster revives and grant health regen on a successful revive
  • Banner Crafting and ally Death Boxes now spawn a Mobile Respawn Beacon (which Support Legends will be able to spot inside)
