Many dedicated players of ARC Raiders feel the game runs out of things to do after a significant amount of playtime. This isn’t an issue for players who only play occasionally, but those who’ve spent hundreds of hours since the October 2025 launch are starting to lose interest. While Embark has consistently released updates to add new content, the studio recognizes it needs to offer more for players who have reached the endgame.
Even though it launched alongside major new games like Battlefield and Call of Duty, ARC Raiders became a surprising hit in 2025. Embark’s second shooter won Best Multiplayer at the 2025 Game Awards, earned excellent reviews from players and critics, and even reached over 481,000 concurrent players on Steam. While ARC Raiders has maintained a consistent player base since its release, recent weeks have seen a noticeable decrease in players, likely due to a lack of things to do after completing the main game.
ARC Raiders Devs Are Aware Players Want More Endgame Content
Even two months after launching, ARC Raiders was still attracting between 350,000 and 400,000 players on Steam each day in early 2026. Recently, however, that number has fallen to around 150,000. While this is still a strong player base – better than games like Marathon, Battlefield 6, and Black Ops 7 – it represents a considerable drop. Many factors likely contribute to this decline, but a major one is the lack of things to do after completing the main game, a problem players have been voicing for months.
Embark, the studio behind ARC Raiders, has finally shared details about what players can expect after finishing the main game. While they’ve previously discussed the game’s future, they hadn’t touched on endgame content—until now. In a recent GamesRadar+ interview, production director Caio Braga acknowledged current balancing issues and stated the team is focused on improving the game’s difficulty. Braga explained they want to provide a real challenge for players who reach the end, and are planning to add more content for them. The goal is to keep experienced players engaged with ongoing challenges while also ensuring new players can join in and enjoy the game with the right tools.

It’s unknown how Embark will fit new endgame content into their existing schedule, or if they’ve already begun development on it. However, with the current ARC Raiders roadmap only extending to April 2026, the studio is probably preparing to announce a second roadmap covering the rest of the year. Many players are hoping for a challenging raid system similar to Destiny 2, featuring complex puzzles, difficult boss battles, and a strong emphasis on teamwork, as this would be the most engaging and satisfying part of the game.
As a huge fan, I’m a little worried about endgame stuff – if the developers at Embark aren’t already planning it, it might be a long wait! But the really awesome thing is they’ve been consistently dropping big updates every month, and another one is coming out super soon – just a few days from now, actually!
The major Flashpoint update for ARC Raiders arrives on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on March 31st. It introduces a new map condition, a greater ARC threat, a new player project, and other improvements. A recent trailer hinted that the Shredder, the game’s most dangerous enemy, will no longer be limited to the Stella Montis map. Previously added shortly after launch, the Shredder will now also appear on Blue Gate, making gameplay there significantly more difficult.
