Power Rangers: 8 Best Gold Rangers, Ranked

Power Rangers is a long-running and incredibly popular superhero series. Most Rangers are known for their single, bright colors, but there are a few exceptions. Gold Rangers, in particular, are fan favorites. They don’t appear as often as some other colors, which often makes them stand out as being especially strong.

Antonio Garcia, the Gold Samurai Ranger, is known for being one of the fastest Power Rangers, and he uniquely built his own morpher. Gold Rangers often stand out as top performers on their teams, but their abilities and contributions aren’t always the same.

8. Nate Silva Inadvertently Causes the Vejinx Virus to Mutate

Power Rangers: Beast Morphers

Nate Silva is the Gold Ranger on Beast Morphers. Like the other Rangers, his powers are boosted by animal DNA – specifically, insect DNA in his case. Interestingly, he accidentally created Evox, the series’ main villain, by transforming the Venjinx Virus. Similar to Doctor K from the original Power Rangers, Silva is directly responsible for bringing a major threat into existence. He ultimately steps up to fight it, but probably wouldn’t have been able to do so without the help of his teammates.

Nate wasn’t just the Gold Ranger in Beast Morphers – he briefly became the Silver Ranger too. His Mantis DNA gives him incredible strength, but he made a big mistake that’s hard to ignore. Luckily, he’ll have a chance to fix it before the series ends.

7. Levi Watson Feels like a Cheap Copy of Antonio Garcia

Power Rangers: Ninja Steel

Okay, so Levi Watson has a seriously cool backstory! Turns out, he’s actually Aiden Romer, and get this – his dad was the original Red Ninja Steel Ranger! He grew up becoming a famous singer, totally unaware of everything his dad had been through, until someone wiped his memory and basically forced him into the Ranger world. But once he joins the Ninja Steel team, he’s incredibly powerful – honestly, some say he even surpasses his dad and brother. It’s a really compelling story, and I was hooked from the start!

Like the other Ninja Steel Rangers, Watson has access to a wide range of powerful transformations and can harness the power of storms. However, his design isn’t very distinctive, especially considering Gold Rangers are usually the most visually unique characters in each series. Unfortunately, Watson doesn’t stand out in the same way.

6. Gem Is a Huge Part of Doctor K’s Original Backstory

Power Rangers: RPM

Initially, Gem and Gemma are held captive alongside Doctor K, in a place playfully called “alphabet soup.” The doctor later lets them go, and they eventually return as the Gold and Silver Rangers. Despite appearing in only a handful of episodes of RPM, Gem and Gemma are fan favorites and a memorable part of the show.

The Gold RPM Ranger pilots both the Falcon Chopper Zord and the Whale Zord, and has access to a lot of experimental ranger equipment. Gem also has many alternate forms that have only appeared in toys or related media. He’s a prime example of a Ranger whose abilities aren’t fully explored, though this is partially addressed in Super Megaforce.

5. Aiyon is an Ancient Rafkonian and the Latest Sixth Ranger

Power Rangers: Dino & Cosmic Fury

Aiyon appears human, but is actually a very old member of the Rafkonian race. He’s also one of the newest sixth Rangers in the series. Being Rafkonian gives him unique abilities, and he’s also a skilled Ranger with access to different Dino Battle Armors and powerful upgrades from recent seasons. While Aiyon is often portrayed as innocent and inexperienced, he’s incredibly powerful.

Aiyon plays the Gold Ranger in Cosmic Fury, which is typical as many Rangers reappear across different seasons. Unlike other teams who often get extended storylines, the Dino Fury Rangers completely switched to new powers. Still, Aiyon establishes a strong legacy for future Gold Rangers and does a fantastic job representing the series for a new generation.

4. Antonio Garcia is one of the Fastest Rangers in History

Power Rangers: Samurai

Antonio Garcia is known as one of the fastest Power Rangers ever. The show even directly acknowledged how incredibly speedy he is! While he loves fishing, Antonio is also a tech whiz. He’s so skilled, he actually built his own transforming device, allowing him to join the team. He may not have all the same abilities as the other Samurai Rangers, but he rarely needs them.

It’s funny that Garcia reappeared in Ninja Steel and met Levi Watson, who looks a lot like him. While he’s generally cheerful, he can definitely become focused and serious when needed. Despite what Master Ji believes, he’s a valuable asset to the team.

3. Sir Ivan of Zandar Has Been a Knight for Literal Centuries

Power Rangers: Dino Charge

Sir Ivan of Zandar is a knight who originally lived in the 13th century. Because of this, he’s an incredibly skilled swordsman. He was frozen for years, but that hasn’t dulled his fighting abilities at all. While he sometimes struggles to understand modern life, it doesn’t affect his performance in battle – except for the odd surprise here and there.

Though Sir Ivan has only two special abilities, they significantly boost his already impressive sword fighting skills. This makes him one of the strongest sixth rangers, particularly when it comes to swordsmanship.

2. Daggeron Harnesses Literal Magic as the Solaris Knight

Power Rangers: Mystic Force

Daggeron stands out as one of the strongest Power Rangers because he can actually use magic. He’s aided by a genie named Jenji, though Jenji’s abilities are restricted throughout the series. Daggeron joins the Mystic Rangers as their sixth member and also serves as a guide, initially facing their distrust before earning their respect through his actions in battle.

Daggeron is one of the most frequently featured Sixth Rangers throughout the Power Rangers series, appearing in almost every episode of Mystic Force. He can transform into an Ancient Mystic Mode, which makes him incredibly powerful, though it does have some downsides. When in this form, he wields a massive golden sword, considered by many fans to be one of the coolest weapons ever seen in the show.

1. Jason Lee Scott Is one of the Strongest Rangers in History

Power Rangers: Zeo

Jason Lee Scott was the very first Red Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. After initially retiring, he returned as the sixth member of the Zeo Rangers. Like Tommy Oliver, he’s a skilled martial artist and, powered by a Zeo crystal, is incredibly powerful – a connection the show itself acknowledges.

Scott’s transition into the Gold Ranger is widely considered one of the most impactful power-ups in the series. When he first appeared in the Gold Ranger form, it was a complete surprise to viewers, and a particularly satisfying one. Although his time as the Gold Ranger was brief, it was a memorable and appreciated addition to the team.
