The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 boasts significantly enhanced graphical capabilities compared to its predecessor, the Nintendo Switch. Reportedly, this new model will offer approximately tenfold the graphics performance of the initial version, as suggested by Nvidia.
On its official site, Nvidia shared insights about Nintendo’s newest console, mentioning the debut of DLSS and 4K gaming on a Nintendo platform. The article explains that Tensor Cores will boost “AI-enhanced graphics” and further notes that RT Cores will “amplify in-game realism through dynamic lighting and authentic reflections.” Nvidia also highlighted the benefits of variable refresh rate and G-Sync for the console’s display, which guarantees “seamless, lag-free gaming experience.
According to the company, these new features are expected to boost the system’s graphics performance tenfold compared to that of the Nintendo Switch, resulting in more fluid gameplay and visually crisp images.
In a simpler, more conversational manner: The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a 1080 LCD screen that can display up to 120 frames per second (FPS) and High Dynamic Range (HDR) in handheld mode. When connected to a TV, it outputs 4K resolution at 60 FPS. However, the action RPG CyberPunk 2077 doesn’t reach 60 FPS on the system; instead, it runs at 40 FPS when docked, as stated by CD Projekt Red.
