Elden Ring Essential Cut Content Restored Thanks To Fan Mod
If you’ve finished Elden Ring and are searching for new content, a modder named TransQuility has created “Merchant Kale Questline Restored” on Nexus Mods. This mod restores a popular questline that was cut from the game, letting players finally experience it – though with a few minor limitations.
You meet Merchant Kale early in the game Elden Ring, and he appears throughout your journey. This mod reimagines what Kale’s storyline could have been like if it had been part of the original game, aiming for a more lore-friendly experience.
Kale’s story centers around his search for his origins and the mystery of the Frenzied Flame. It’s largely inspired by a popular fan-made video on YouTube, created by Sekiro Dubi, which is currently the best available representation of his background.
Merchant Kale’s Quest Is Now Fully Playable
So, this questline was cut from the game originally, and nobody really knew where it was going. Because of that, the version you’re playing now is a bit of a fan project – it’s not officially FromSoftware-approved. Honestly, it means things can get a little messy, but hey, what Elden Ring quest isn’t complicated, right?
To start and finish this quest, you need to buy something from Kalé, fully talk to him, get specific items, and defeat the Shardbearers. The exact steps are intentionally left a bit vague to avoid spoiling the ending and what happens to Kalé.
Although FromSoftware hasn’t officially restored it, this mod brings players as close as possible to the original questline for Merchant Kale. It’s just one of many impressive creations by modder TransQuility, who also makes gameplay mods that let players use the moves of popular bosses like Radahn and Hoarah Loux.
