A fan who enjoys both One Piece and Pokemon Pokopia recently created an amazing recreation of the Going Merry – Luffy’s first ship – within the Pokopia game. Pokemon Pokopia has become a source of creativity for many players, who are building all sorts of impressive things. Using the game’s building tools, fans have constructed everything from simple apartments and elaborate houses to useful structures like a working subway system. This latest creation shows how inspired players are by popular anime like One Piece.
One Piece is a hugely popular and iconic Japanese series. It tells the story of Monkey D. Luffy, a young adventurer who dreams of becoming the King of the Pirates by finding the legendary treasure on the Grand Line. The manga began in 1997 and has published over 1,100 chapters, and the anime series has a similar number of episodes. Recently, a dedicated fan impressively recreated the Straw Hat Pirates’ original ship within the game Pokopia as a tribute to the series’ beginnings.
Pokopia Player Recreates One Piece’s Going Merry
Austin Brewster, a fan of the game Pokopia, recently shared their amazing One Piece creation on a Facebook group for the game. They built a detailed replica of the Going Merry ship, complete with the Straw Hats’ signature sail – featuring Luffy’s hat alongside the classic skull and crossbones. To recreate the ship’s sheep figurehead, Brewster cleverly used stairs and antique wall blocks for the eyes and mouth, and logs to form the ears. They also shared a video showcasing the ship’s interior, including the fully built mess hall, bathroom, and living spaces, bringing the iconic pirate ship to life in Pokopia.

The amazing One Piecethemed creation in Pokopia quickly became popular with fans on Facebook. Many people loved the One Piece build and said they wanted to create their own tributes to the anime, such as Buggy the Clown’s ship. Several fans encouraged the creator not to stop with the Going Merry and asked them to build the Thousand Sunny, the Straw Hats’ second ship. One fan even hoped to see a famous location from another anime, Demon Slayer‘s Infinity Castle, recreated in Pokopia*.
A special tribute to One Piece is being released alongside several exciting new projects for the popular anime. The twelfth season of One Piece will premiere in April, kicking off the Elbaf Arc and sending Luffy and his crew to a country inhabited by giants. Fans can also look forward to a new spinoff series called One Piece: Heroines, which will focus on the show’s main female characters like Nami and Nico Robin. Plus, WIT Studio is working on a remake of the original series, streamlining the story by removing much of the filler content.
The immense popularity of One Piece naturally led a fan to create a tribute within the game Pokopia. Pokopia, a Pokemon spin-off, has become known for players recreating beloved parts of the Pokemon universe, from classic locations like the Bell Tower in Pokemon Gold and Silver to the entire Kanto region. Players have even built Pokemonthemed versions of real-life places, with one fan famously recreating an Olive Garden restaurant. Pokopia* consistently sparks creativity, inspiring players to build amazing things within the game.
