How to Convince Joey You’re Part of the Protest in Life Is Strange Reunion

While investigating the campus fire, Max and Chloe separate to pursue different clues. When playing as Chloe at the Snapping Turtle, you’ll need to infiltrate the protest group and gain access to their online forum. This is connected to the ‘Not a Rat’ achievement/trophy in Life is Strange: Reunion, which requires convincing Joey that you’re one of the protestors. It’s important to note that this achievement/trophy is missable and requires careful investigation and choosing the correct dialogue options during your conversation with Joey.

How to Convince Joey You’re Part of the Protest in Life Is Strange: Reunion

In this part of the game, you have three goals, but only two are essential to proving to Joey that you’re one of the protestors. First, you need to join the protest group, and then you need to gain access to their online forum. Once you’ve done those things, you can talk to Joey, and if you choose the right conversation options, he’ll believe you’re with the protestors.

How to Get in with the Protestors

Okay, so the first thing I did was try to find the protestors. It turns out the easiest way is to talk to Ren, who’s just to the right of the stage. I chatted with them until they had nothing new to say, and that’s when I found out they used an online forum to get everything organized. Ren also mentioned that some flyers from their last meeting might still be around somewhere, which is a good clue!

Spin around and walk to the fireplace on the opposite side of the room. Look to the left of the fireplace for a trash bucket. Inside, you’ll find a partially burned flyer – carefully pull it out, as it still has the password for the online forum on it.

Get Access to the Online Forum

Go talk to Amanda at the bar. When you mention the online forum, she’ll tell you it requires a password. You’ll then be able to tell her you know it, and she’ll let you and a friend use her laptop to investigate.

Now you can explore the message board. Clicking on the highlighted sections will let you hear Chloe’s reactions to different parts of the page. Be sure to listen carefully to what she says about the usernames, the message board’s slogan at the top, and the reason someone gave for missing the last meeting – you’ll need this information soon.

Convincing Joey You’re Part of the Protest

Now that you can access the online forum, go find Joey. He’s by himself between the bar and the fireplace – the same place where you saw the torn piece of the flyer.

As part of this conversation, you want to select the following options:

  • I’m CardinalSin.
  • Bowling league.
  • Sic semper tyrannis.

If you choose these dialogue options, you’ll convince Joey that Chloe is one of the protestors and someone he can trust. As a result, he’ll tell you where and when the protestors are planning to gather for their march.

Successfully convincing Joey will unlock the ‘Not a Rat’ achievement, which you can miss if you answer his questions incorrectly. While it’s not a critical decision in Life Is Strange: Reunion, helping Joey will assist Max and Chloe as they try to figure out what’s happening in Caledon.

If you answer questions incorrectly, you can always restart from the scene selection in the main menu. This applies to earning the ‘It’s Uh Kind of Fascinating to Me’ trophy/achievement as well.
