Today marks the debut of the initial route add-on for Train Sim World 5, featuring the MBTA Commuter line that stretches from downtown Boston to Worcester, Massachusetts. Alongside this, the new HSP46 diesel locomotive has been introduced, boasting energy-efficient stop-start engine modes, a stylish design, and advanced cab controls.

From the streamlined elegance of high-speed trains to the powerful rumble of modern diesels – the rails are now under your control!
In Train Sim World 5, users can acquaint themselves with some novel modes through the route add-on DLC, including a mode known as Conductor Mode or Guard Mode. This fresh mode allows players to inspect tickets and control doors. For the MBTA Commuter, this functionality is accessible in the brand-new bi-level commuter coaches and the single-level coaches carried over from the previous route.
If you’ve previously purchased the Boston – Providence route expansion pack for Train Sim World 5, you’ll have the ability to smoothly move between both Boston routes, a process we call ‘Route Hopping’. This transition is designed to make your New England adventure as seamless as possible. The journey will showcase realistic scenery and stations, including Fenway Park, America’s oldest baseball stadium. You’ll also get the chance to search for hidden collectibles and transport passengers to and from the ball game. Lastly, if you own other USA routes, you can operate CSX freight trains between Framingham and Worcester.
