Hideaki Itsuno, Capcom’s legendary director, will head a new studio

As a gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that Hideaki Itsuno joining LightSpeed Studios Japan is nothing short of thrilling news! This man is responsible for some of the most action-packed and immersive experiences I’ve ever had in the gaming world. From Devil May Cry to Dragon’s Dogma, he’s proven time and again that he knows how to deliver addictive combat and captivating stories.

Hideaki Itsuno, creator of the Devil May Cry and Dragon’s Dogma series, has moved to a new role. This renowned director is now leading at LightSpeed Studios Japan, a branch owned by the massive company Tencent.

Itsuno is going to leverage all his skills to create groundbreaking AAA action titles, as he discussed in a press release about his latest endeavor.

Moving on to LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS feels like embarking on a fresh, thrilling journey for me. With LightSpeed’s robust development skills and expansive global connections, I can’t wait to collaborate with this extraordinary team in crafting AAA action games. Together, we aim to develop groundbreaking and aesthetically pleasing gaming experiences that will resonate with the worldwide community of gamers. We warmly invite skilled and enthusiastic game developers from across the globe to share our vision.

Hailing from both Osaka and Tokyo, my beloved studio’s vision centers around creating immersive experiences that resonate with a worldwide audience. As the president of LightSpeed Studios, I, Jerry Chen, express this passionately:

Establishing LightSpeed Japan Studio marks an important milestone in the growth of LightSpeed Studios, underscoring our dedication to delivering exceptional games for our gamers.

There’s no question that this initiative is serious business, as they’ve just secured one of Japan’s top game developers, Hideaki Itsuno. As of now, we don’t have any additional information about his next project. Given the director’s past work, we can at least anticipate some engaging combat sequences.
