What’s Happening at BLEED Esports? Player Payment Scandal Explained

As a long-time Esports enthusiast and follower of BLEED Esports, I must say I am deeply disheartened by the recent events unfolding within this organization. I remember when they first burst onto the scene with promises of innovation and fairness, but it seems those ideals have been lost along the way.

The management team at BLEED Esports is facing criticism yet again due to allegations of not paying their players and staff on time. It’s been suggested that this organization has been deceiving its players, across several games, by withholding salaries and refusing to distribute prize money from tournaments for over a year.

The team left BLEED Esports after negotiating for a month with Ubisoft and now they’re revealing information about their departure.)

If It BLEEDs

A critical juncture was reached for BLEED Esports as their team’s IGL, Patrick ‘MentalistC’ Fan, publicly criticized BLEED’s management on social media.

Over the past year, BLEED has been deceiving their Valorant, CS2, R6, Overwatch, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Dota 2 players (and others) with regards to payments. They’ve failed to deliver salaries on time, made false promises about compensation, and withheld prize money. All they offered were pay stubs without any verifiable evidence of funds, a trick they used to mislead other organizations into believing they had paid player buyouts honestly.

Over the last four weeks, we’ve maintained a continuous dialogue with Ubisoft, making our point emphatically and coherently. Specifically, we’ve made Ubisoft aware of our stance in no uncertain terms.

BLEED has been ghosting us, having zero intention to cure their contract breach.

BLEED has been full of lies and false promises, and their words cannot be trusted.

Currently, the consequences of BLEED’s contract violation have been initiated in this correspondence. This means we have the option to end our agreements with BLEED. We are still waiting for Ubisoft to make their final decision on the matter.

MentalistC’s Twitter profile currently identifies him as part of the ‘NOTPAID R6S’ team, however, in the future, they will be known as ‘BLED’.

Other players, including Taylor ‘Terdsta’ Ching, asserted that BLEED owes him a substantial $35,000. He stressed that he would struggle to cover his expenses or even buy food without additional sources of income, such as streaming.

Following a controversial incident, seven individuals associated with team BLEED (including a coach and an analyst) have stepped down from their Rainbow Six roles. A Counter-Strike coach made accusations that team BLEED has accumulated a substantial amount of debt in the CS world, estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. These claims were made by Aleksandar ‘kassad’ Trifunovic, who asserted that BLEED’s CEO is evading the issue and is fully informed about the current state of affairs.

For quite some time now, CEO Mervyn Goh has faced intense examination by both supporters and detractors due to numerous controversies. The negative publicity surrounding him seems unrelenting. In 2022, accusations arose that he physically assaulted a woman at a nightclub, while in 2023, there were allegations that the Singaporean government removed BLEED Esports from its registry.

As you delve further into this subject matter, you’ll find links to ‘Mervyn Goh En Wei’ being involved in numerous legal complications.

Presently, nobody has been able to reach the CEO for a statement.
