Black Ops 6 is the First Confirmed Esports World Cup 2025 Game

As someone who has been a die-hard Call of Duty fan since the early Black Ops days, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the confirmation of Black Ops 6 for the Esports World Cup 2025! After witnessing the electrifying finale of last year’s tournament, it’s heartening to see that Call of Duty will have a permanent spot in this grand event.

It’s officially announced that Black Ops 6 will participate in the 2025 Esports World Cup. This is the initial game confirmed for this multi-million-dollar tournament, happening from July to August 2025. The inaugural Esports World Cup of this year turned out to be a massive hit, as suggested by various reports.

Locked In

2021’s Esports World Cup showcased a diverse range of games, including League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Rainbow Six Siege, and Rocket League. Although Call of Duty was initially absent from the grand event, Activision has compensated for the delay this year by announcing that Black Ops 6 will be the first confirmed game for the Esports World Cup in 2025.

In August, Atlanta FaZe emerged victorious on stage, taking home the $600,000 prize after an intense battle against underdog team 100 Thieves in the final of the tournament held in Riyadh. The event didn’t draw as large an audience as the Call of Duty League, but it provided a refreshing break during the off-season and allowed for a wider variety of teams to participate.

As a gamer, I’m expecting the usual setup this year, where amateur Challenger teams will mingle with the pros from CDL in a Pro-Am scenario. It should make for an exciting mix of skill levels and strategies!

Over time, we’ll witness an increasing number of games being added to the roster for the 2025 Esports World Cup. Given the success of its debut, the organizers are determined to surpass themselves and make the following edition even more spectacular.
