How To Win The Silent Auction Bidding War in Life is Strange: Reunion

While playing Life is Strange Reunion, you’ll primarily focus on solving the central mystery at Caledon University alongside Max and Chloe. However, you can also spend time freely exploring to discover optional clues and details, offering a welcome distraction.

During the Open Mic Night at the Snapping Turtle Bar, there’s a silent auction happening. While you’re trying to gather clues about the mystery from the people there, Max has the opportunity to win a unique, handmade sculpture. Getting this sculpture will also unlock a secret trophy or achievement if you’re aiming to fully complete the game.

Want to know how Max can win the silent auction in Life is Strange: Reunion and come out on top? Let me walk you through a strategy to ensure her success!

How to Win the Silent Auction Bidding War

Make the First Bid and Attend Amanda’s Stand-Up Comedy

At the start of this section, you’ll need to speak with Amanda and Vinh to find out what’s happening around Lakeport and Caledon. But I really think we should begin with the bidding war first.

Fun fact: This sculpture was actually created by Charlotte, a key character from the game Life is Strange: True Colors. It seems she somehow got it to Amanda, who then put it up for auction at the Snapping Turtle Bar – either directly or through someone else.

Okay, so I headed over to the table with that sculpture I recognized. Now I can look at all the bidding lists, but the important one is definitely the ‘Sculpture Bidding Sheet’ – that’s where I need to add Max’s bid. The game asked me to do this so she can officially enter the competition, so I did it right away!

First, speak with Amanda and Vinh, then finish the main story objectives for this scene. After that, make sure Amanda’s comedy show goes well without anyone interrupting.

Make the Second Bid and Talk to Lucas

After Amanda’s comedy routine, immediately return to the bidding table. You’ll now see that Vinh has increased the bid on the sculpture. Max won’t let that stand, so she counters with a bid of $200, hoping to outdo him.

Once you’ve submitted the new bid, continue talking to Lucas as usual to gather more information. He’s likely to be uncooperative at first. If that happens, go back and try asking him about any recent books he’s enjoyed, then take a look at his business card – it has a link to a podcast clip that might be helpful.

After listening to the podcast, play it again from the beginning. Then, when you talk to him, try complimenting his anti-education podcast to get on his good side. Once Max gets the information she needs from Lucas on Fremont Street, it’s time to leave the bar, but hold off for a moment.

Prevent Vinh From Cheating and Win the Silent Auction

Hold on before going through that door – we still need to win the auction. Go back to the table and double-check the bid sheet; Vinh has made another higher offer. Place one final bid, and you’ll see a cutscene where Vinh secretly cheats and steals the sculpture from Max at the very last moment.

Fortunately, we can simply go back to the moment before this happened. If you check the Sculpture Bidding Sheet now, you’ll be able to place a bid and then steal the pen, preventing Vinh from cheating. This will let you win the auction and the art sculpture, unlocking the “Going Once… Going Twice!” trophy or achievement.

Here’s something interesting: if you continue playing, you’ll see the sculpture again in Max’s house during the Reunion chapter – it becomes a lovely decoration!
