As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the recent announcement of Destiny 2 collaborating with Street Fighter 6 is nothing short of a dream come true! From my early days of pounding buttons on an arcade cabinet to the countless hours spent mastering combos in modern games, Street Fighter has always held a special place in my heart.

In their latest Act 2 livestream, Bungie unveiled the upcoming collaboration for Destiny 2, incorporating cosmetic items inspired by Capcom’s Street Fighter 6. The full Act 2 is set to begin on November 19, and Bungie also offered a sneak peek at some of the new content coming to Destiny 2 as well.

Over the past few years, Bungie has placed a greater emphasis on partnerships, integrating themed content from other companies into Destiny 2. This has led to various items in Eververse inspired by different games and brands, such as The Witcher 3, Fortnite, Ghostbusters, Assassin’s Creed, among others. Notably, cosmetics from PlayStation franchises like Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, and Horizon: Zero Dawn have also been added to Destiny 2. However, the upcoming announcement might have left many fans in a state of shock.

During its Act 2 broadcast, game developer Bungie shared sneak peeks at upcoming cosmetic items for Destiny 2, including merchandise from a partnership with Street Fighter 6. Although rumors about the collaboration between Street Fighter and Destiny 2 emerged in October, fans got their first proper look during this event, featuring a helmet inspired by the character Blanka. Bungie officially announced that the Blanka-themed helmet will function as a universal ornament for all three classes, bearing a striking resemblance to masks worn during the Festival of the Lost festivities.

Destiny 2 Adding Street Fighter 6 Cosmetics on November 19

Besides the Blanka helmet, gamers can collect various extra items to show off their love for Street Fighter. There will be three Ghost shells styled after Chun-Li, Ryu, and Cammy White. Additionally, three new finishing moves are being added, including Chun-Li’s spinning bird kick and lightning kicks, as well as Ryu’s famous Hadoken fireball. Lastly, the livestream previewed a couple of emotes – one depicting a fight between Ryu and Blanka with health bars above each player, while the other references the classic Bonus Stages from previous Street Fighter games, substituting a car for a vending machine.

On top of Act 2 and Street Fighter content, November 19 marks the commencement of a unique in-game event. Following the rectification of a weapon perk weighting problem, Bungie will provide several highly sought-after god roll weapons to all Destiny 2 players through Banshee-44. This includes Indebted Kindness, VS Chill Inhibitor, Rose, and other favorites. Additionally, the Vesper’s Host dungeons are doubling their loot drops, offering players an increased chance to find specific weapon and armor rolls.
