The Best UR Abilities in Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy

Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, a game by Square Enix, features a large roster of characters and a wide variety of abilities. The most powerful abilities in the game are the Ultra Rare (UR) abilities. Currently, there are 24 UR abilities available, with each character having two exclusive ones and four that anyone can use. While all UR abilities are useful, the difference in strength between the best and the rest isn’t very significant.

However, a few abilities really excel and are useful in many situations. Here’s a look at the top blue (UR) abilities in the game, plus some other strong contenders.

Diamond Destroyer—Gaia

  • Type: Invincible/Special Attack
  • Area: Frontal Circle
  • Special Effect: Debuff
  • Cooldown: 90 Sec.

This attack doesn’t deal a lot of damage, but its special effects are powerful. It significantly boosts Gaia’s speed and attack strength for 8 seconds. At the same time, enemies hit by the attack are slowed down drastically, making them easier to hit and reducing their ability to fight back.

This ability works perfectly with Gaia’s skills, because her defense goes up when she gets a speed boost. Plus, her special move, Hopeful Dance, lets her attack enemies from afar or deal damage to bosses.

Angel Wing—Rinoa

  • Type: Invincible/Boost
  • Area: Self
  • Special Effect: Buff/Recovery
  • Cooldown: 40 Sec.

This ability boosts Rinoa’s attack power each time she uses it, up to three times. After three boosts, her regular attacks become much stronger, and she’ll fully heal herself with each use. It’s best to use this ability frequently early in the match to build up those boosts, as it makes Rinoa incredibly strong in the mid and late game. A 40-second cooldown for a complete heal is already valuable, and the added attack power makes Rinoa even more formidable.

Cross Slash—Cloud

  • Type: Invincible/Special Attack
  • Area: Single Target
  • Special Effect: Paralysis
  • Cooldown: 42 Sec.

This move is incredibly powerful in player-versus-player combat. It deals massive damage, often enough to defeat opponents instantly. But that’s not all – it also stuns enemies for five seconds, making escape nearly impossible without specific abilities to remove status effects or provide strong healing. This is the main reason Cloud excels in PvP, and when used with teamwork, it’s the perfect way to eliminate close-combat enemies.

Supreme Soul—Warrior of Light

  • Type: Invincible/other
  • Area: All Allies
  • Special Effect: Buff
  • Cooldown: 105 Sec.

This is the strongest support ability in the game, hands down. It creates a zone of damage around all your teammates for 30 seconds. The damage is substantial, and when used with good teamwork, it can make your group incredibly deadly. It also helps clear out monsters near objectives and can discourage enemies from approaching. Because of its long 105-second cooldown, timing is crucial, but a well-placed use of this ability can easily win the game.

Honorable Mentions:

Ace/Fire—General

  • Type: Attack
  • Area: Ranged Line
  • Special Effect: None
  • Cooldown: 46 Sec.

Ace/Fire is a very strong, long-range attack that’s useful in almost any situation. Its 45-second cooldown isn’t too long, making it good for quickly eliminating enemies. Although it doesn’t deal as much damage as a character’s special moves, it’s a powerful all-purpose option when you need to fill out your skill selection.

Selphie/Wall—General

  • Type: Boost
  • Area: Self
  • Special Effect: Barrier
  • Cooldown: 36 Sec.

It’s not surprising to see Final Fantasy 8 getting attention, as it’s a popular game. However, featuring Selphie is a refreshing choice. Her ability, Selphie/Wall, significantly reduces damage taken by 80% and protects against status effects for 8 seconds, making her a strong defensive option. While other characters can also gain similar protection, Selphie’s ability is unique because it’s usable by anyone and has a relatively short 36-second cooldown.

Dragoon’s Pride—Kain

  • Type: Invincible/Special Attack
  • Area: Area
  • Special Effect: Movement (Warp to crystal)
  • Cooldown: 70 Sec.

Dragoon’s Pride functions like Minwu/Teleport, instantly moving Kain to a selected crystal. It also includes a powerful area-of-effect attack. While in burst mode, Kain will automatically target the boss. However, its long 70-second cooldown and limited use to only Kain prevent it from being top-tier.

Omnislash—Cloud

  • Type: Invincible/Attack
  • Area: Single
  • Special Effect: None
  • Cooldown: 90 Sec.

Cloud is a fan favorite, so it’s no wonder he has some incredibly strong attacks. His Omnislash deals the most damage of any move in the game and is great for quickly defeating bosses. However, it’s best to avoid using it in player-versus-player battles because skilled opponents can easily counter it, and its long 90-second cooldown means you won’t be able to use it again soon, either against other players or the boss.

Legend of the Deep Forest—Krile

  • Type: Invincible/Recovery
  • Area: All Allies
  • Special Effect: Regen
  • Cooldown: 75 Sec.

Legend of the Deep Forest is the strongest healing ability in the game, rapidly restoring health to your entire team for 15 seconds. However, its long recharge time (75 seconds) and the fact that you don’t always need that much healing keep it from being top-tier. It can still be very valuable in player-versus-player battles or when you urgently need to revive your team.

Minwu/Teleport—General

  • Type: Other
  • Area: Self
  • Special Effect: Movement (Teleport to crystal)
  • Cooldown: 50 Sec.

Minwu/Teleport is a very strong ability that lets players instantly travel to any crystal on the map. This gives them a quick advantage at the start of a match, or a way to quickly escape danger. However, it has a long 50-second cooldown, and it doesn’t deal any damage, making it ineffective in combat situations.

Meteor—Rinoa

  • Type: Invincible/Attack
  • Area: Frontal Circle
  • Special Effect: None
  • Cooldown: 90 Sec.

Meteor is one of the most recognizable attacks in the Final Fantasy series, and it’s good to see it’s really powerful in this game. It deals a lot of damage over a wide area and makes Rinoa temporarily invulnerable. A well-timed Meteor can wipe out groups of weaker enemies, heavily damage larger ones, or even hurt a boss all at once. If you’re facing a Rinoa player who’s building up this attack, be careful and try to move away! While it’s great for controlling space, the long recharge time means there might be better options to use overall.
