Hideaki Sorachi is a hugely influential name in manga, best known as the creator of the incredibly popular series, Gintama. Though Gintama finished its run in 2019, Sorachi is back with a new manga! Following his work on the Dandelion anime, Shonen Jump has announced his latest project, titled ‘2-Nen B-Gumi Yusha Destroyers.’ This marks his return to creating manga after a period of other projects.
2-Nen B-Gumi Yusha Destroyers Is Coming To Weekly Shonen Jump
Hideaki Sorachi, the incredibly popular manga artist behind many beloved works, is making a comeback! After a seven-year break, fans are thrilled to hear he’s starting a new manga series. Officially announced, his latest creation, titled 2-Nen B-Gumi Yusha Destroyers (or Class 2-B Hero Destroyers), will debut in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 21 on April 20, 2026.
From what I’ve seen, “Class 2-B Hero Destroyers” feels like a really complete story with a lot of potential. It could easily run in Jump magazine for years, which is great timing considering some of the biggest series have just finished up there. It feels like it could really fill a gap.
Exploring The Concept Of The New Sorachi Story
Not much is known yet about Sorachi’s new manga, Class 2-B Hero Destroyers, but some details have emerged. Sorachi has already created an illustration for the series, showcasing what appear to be the main characters. The art features a young man with black hair and a blond woman, both wearing uniforms, suggesting they will be central to the story.
If you’re eager to know more about the story, it’s shaping up to be a funny fantasy adventure centered around a Demon King. Like most works by this author, comedy is the main focus, but the presence of a Demon King suggests there will also be plenty of action. That’s pretty much all that’s been revealed so far. The first chapter is coming out soon, and it should give fans a clear idea of what the story is all about. As usual, the first chapter will be quite long – at least 40 pages – to really grab readers’ attention and introduce the world.
Why Sorachi’s Next Manga Will Be A Big Hit
Hideki Sorachi’s upcoming manga has a lot of promise. He’s a well-known and respected creator with a loyal following, and fans are likely to eagerly support his new work. Known for both compelling stories and impressive artwork, Sorachi has a strong track record that suggests this new manga could be very successful.
Just because a creator is famous doesn’t mean their new work will automatically be a hit, as we saw with Kishimoto’s Samurai 8. The success of this new story will depend on how captivating it is. However, Sorachi has a good opportunity to stand out, especially now that several popular manga series have finished.
Assessing The Possibility of Other Mangaka Returning To Jump
The return of creator Hideaki Sorachi is generating a lot of excitement, and fans are hoping to see other experienced manga artists come back to work as well. There’s a good chance that will happen, as Kohei Horikoshi, the author of My Hero Academia, has mentioned he’s developing a new project. While it’s been almost a year since the last update on his new story, his eventual return could be a pleasant surprise for fans.
As a huge Jump fan, I’m really excited about the possibility of some amazing creators coming back! We’ve heard that Gege Akutami, the genius behind Jujutsu Kaisen, might return after finishing the current arc, and honestly, with how massive JJK is, I can’t imagine Weekly Shonen Jump wouldn’t want them back. Plus, Masashi Kishimoto has hinted at something for 2024, though we haven’t heard much detail on that yet. Fingers crossed we get to see these incredible authors contributing to Jump again soon!
