Due to his immense power, he was the first to succumb to degradation, enduring unimaginable torment and anguish. In response to this excruciating pain, Lucifer channeled his agony towards humanity, persuading the other Demon Kings to join him in our realm, leading to a catastrophic onslaught that brought forth destruction, fires, floods, and disease. Alas, this devastation marked an unfortunate era for us all.
In a bid to avert human annihilation, Mephisto and two of his kin collaborated, imparting knowledge on how to combat demons to humankind. This partnership marked the emergence of the True Cross Order, an organization that has persisted for approximately 100-200 years. This order served dual purposes: it equipped humans with the means to ward off demonic threats and maintained the balance in the world.
Since the Grigori were among the creators of the True Cross Order, they also established a protective body for themselves, named the Grigori Agency. This role is currently led by Jeremia Uzai as its director. The Grigori are often seen adorning light-hued attire. Primarily, the duties of the Grigori Agency involve overseeing and managing the Grigori, as well as maintaining the Holy Ground where their crystallizations reside.

Among these demon kings, Azazel, the Spirit Ruler, formed an alliance due to his compassion for the Sol or Twin Stars.
In the course of events, it came to light that Azazel assisted in creating multiple vessels for Lucifer, the Radiant King. But in Chapter 87, it was discovered that Azazel’s physical form was preserved within a holy place. Given his role as one of humanity’s original creators and allies, Azazel declined the opportunity to inhabit a new body and instead opted to return to nature peacefully.
Since Section 13 collected samples from Azazel for cloning, his body solidified more rapidly. Given that Azazel is currently in a crystallized state, his top advisor dons the official robes and assumes the role of Azazel of the Grigori during crises. Normally, a Nephilim would fulfill this position; however, as Azazel’s bloodline became extinct hundreds of years ago, the advisor now steps in as a replacement.
Shemihaza is a member of the collective known as Sol and is often referred to as the Emperor of Creation. In ancient times, the world inhabited by humans was desolate and inhospitable due to a powerful ruler called the King of the Earth. To appease his wrath, Shemihaza offered her body and transformed into a towering tree within Amahara. The headquarters for Shemihaza is located within this same region. The sacred land surrounding the Shemihaza tree, teeming with various life forms, can also be known as El. Additionally, she locked away the King of the Earth, Amaimon, within minerals using her crystallization powers.
Initially, Shemihaza claimed a segment of Amaimon but surrendered his personal identity to serve her. Over generations, Shemihaza’s family members carried on this role within the Grigori. To assume the position of the new leader, however, a successor must subdue Amaimon. The current Shemihaza in the Grigori is Shiemi’s mother, who works at an Exorcist Shop close to True Cross Academy. Eventually, Shiemi will take over as the new successor once she has vanquished Amaimon.
The final Grigori member is Armumahel, the Emperor of Emptiness. Like Azazel and Shemihaza, Armumahel chose to revert to nature through crystallization. Like Azazel, Armumahel is a demon closely related to Yamantaka, Shima Renzo’s familiar. Armumahel’s role in the Grigori is to provide a substance that subdues demons.
In the story, as Armumahel’s form transforms into crystal, pieces of this crystalline structure are utilized to craft Holy Silver and Holy Water. In chapter 110, Lucifer reveals to Yukio that Armumahel’s power shares qualities similar to the Black Flame, infamously known as the flame of Gehenna. This ominous Black Flame has the ability to neutralize demons and erode human souls, much like Azazel. Interestingly, Armumahel also possesses a stand-in named Balthasar who takes over during crucial gatherings when needed.
To ready themselves for the confrontation with Satan in Chapter 130, the Grigori Agency joined forces with the then-current Shemihaza of the Grigori, who was Shiemi’s mother prior to Shiemi assuming the position, engaged in the fight together.
