Pragmata Has Gone Gold

Capcom has finished developing Pragmata, their new sci-fi action-adventure game, and it’s ready to be shipped to stores! This confirms the game is on track to launch on April 17th for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.

Capcom first revealed Pragmata in June 2020 during the PlayStation 5 announcement, and it’s been generating excitement ever since. The game boasts impressive graphics powered by the RE Engine and features a unique gameplay style. Players will control two characters at the same time, using one to hack robots and the other to fight them. Early demos of this long-awaited game have been well-received by both fans and critics, and it won’t be long before everyone gets a chance to play it.

Pragmata Has Officially Gone Gold Ahead of its April 17 Launch

I was so excited to see that Pragmata officially went gold on March 31st! Capcom shared a picture of the development team and thanked all of us fans for our support. They seem really thrilled to finally be sharing the game, and honestly, so am I! We finally get to play it on April 17th – I can’t wait!

Honestly, seeing this new milestone for Pragmata feels really good, especially considering the game’s had a bit of a bumpy ride. When they first showed it off back in 2020, we were told it’d be out in 2022. But then, in January 2021, Capcom dropped a trailer announcing a delay to 2023. It was a funny trailer, actually – one of the main characters, Diana, was holding a sign that crossed out ‘2022’, pointed to ‘2023’, and even had a little ‘sorry’ with a sad face! It showed they had a sense of humor about it, at least. Still, it’s great to see progress after the wait.

In June 2023, a new trailer for Pragmata showed Diana writing on paper while her co-star, Hugh, fought robots. As they left, Hugh said, “Sorry kiddo, we’ve still got a ways to go,” and the paper Diana was writing on floated to the floor. It revealed the message “2022 → 2023 →?” with the words “VERY Sorry” underneath. This confirmed that Capcom was postponing Pragmata with no new release date announced.

After being absent for two years, the game Pragmata reappeared at the Sony State of Play in June 2025, with an expected release sometime in 2026. Later, at The Game Awards in December 2025, a firm release date of April 24, 2026, was announced, and it was confirmed the game would also be available on the new Nintendo Switch 2. However, the release date was recently changed – for the better! Pragmata is now scheduled to launch a week earlier, on April 17.

Okay, after waiting forever – like, almost six years! – it looks like we’re finally getting Pragmata! The game has officially gone gold, which basically means it’s done being made. I’m not gonna get too excited though, because these days, developers always keep tweaking things until the very last second with a day-one patch. But honestly, it feels like the long development journey is finally over, and we can actually play it soon!
