One Piece: Kid And Law’s Next Role In The Final Saga, Explained

Watching the final part of One Piece unfold feels like witnessing history in the making – I really think it’s going to be legendary for shonen manga. Eiichiro Oda has finished the first part of this final saga, and is now working on the second. The Elbaf arc, which is where we are now, is already a massive story, clocking in at over 50 chapters and becoming one of the longest arcs in the whole One Piece series.

The current storyline is quickly building to a major turning point, and when Eiichiro Oda finishes an arc, he usually shows what’s been happening elsewhere in the One Piece world. This makes it likely we’ll see Trafalgar Law and Eustass Kid again soon.

Trafalgar Law And Eustass Kid Were Beaten After Wano

Law and Kid were thrilled to have defeated Big Mom, one of the world’s most powerful pirates. After the battle, the three captains – Law, Kid, and Luffy – each went their own way. Luffy continued his journey to Egghead Island, where he encountered the brilliant scientist, Dr. Vegapunk.

Kid and Law faced a difficult situation. Kid traveled to Elbaf, a place frequently visited by Shanks, and was warned upon arrival that Shanks and his crew were nearby. Despite the warning, Kid recklessly attacked the approaching ships. Recognizing the threat Kid posed, Shanks quickly intervened and defeated him, even taking Kid’s copies of the Road Poneglyphs, leaving him with nothing.

Trafalgar Law faced a similar ordeal. His ship was attacked by Blackbeard’s crew near Winner Island. Blackbeard wanted the Road Poneglyphs Law possessed and refused to let him escape. Law and his crew fought hard, but were ultimately overpowered. Law was severely injured and would have died if Bepo hadn’t rescued him by quickly swimming them both to safety.

Law And Kid’s Return Will Be Epic

We don’t know where Kid and Law are right now. After Shanks’ attack, it’s even uncertain if Kid is still alive, especially since he lost his ship. However, the author, Oda, rarely kills off characters for shock value, so it’s likely both Law and Kid survived and will reappear in the final part of the One Piece story.

Now that they’ve lost the Road Poneglyphs, these two are no longer competing to find the One Piece, meaning they’re not Luffy’s enemies anymore and could potentially become his allies. However, the timing of any alliance is uncertain. Right now, Luffy and his crew are battling Imu and the Holy Knights, and it seems Imu will remain a powerful force even after that fight is over.

I have a feeling things are going to get much harder for the Straw Hats. After returning to Marijoa, the World Government will really focus all their efforts on taking them down. From what I’ve seen, even their fight in Elbaf showed how tough things will continue to be. They’re going to be up against some incredibly powerful opponents – Imu, the Five Elders, the Holy Knights, and the Marines. It’s clear they won’t be able to handle all of that alone, and that’s where allies like Law and Kid will become essential.

Trafalgar Law has an incredibly powerful Devil Fruit called the Ope Ope no Mi. This fruit lets him ignore an opponent’s Haki, giving him a significant edge in battle, and even heal injuries. Eustass Kid is equally formidable, wielding the Jiki Jiki no Mi, which allows him to control magnetic forces. He can create giant limbs using this power and use them to attack. Both Law and Kid are also skilled in Haki and have unlocked the full potential of their Devil Fruits.
