To finish the Trace of Shadows quest, you’ll need to find clues in both Three Saint’s Falls and Duskwood within the Crimson Desert. Once you’ve found them, return to Count Serkis to continue the quest.

Starting the ‘Secret of the Lost Seal’ questline can be a little complicated. You’ll first need to finish all the quests for both House Serkis and House Alfonso. Here’s a guide on where to find clues during the ‘Trace of Shadows’ quest in Crimson Desert – specifically at Three Saint’s Falls and Duskwood.

Trace Of Shadows Quest Walkthrough In Crimson Desert

After finishing the “Traces of Intruder” quest in Crimson Desert, talk to Graham Alfonso and the other characters. They’ll send you to new locations where the thief left behind more clues. At each location, you’ll need to find and read the thief’s note first.

Track The Traces At Three Saint’s Falls In Crimson Desert

Head to Three Saint’s Falls, where the quest marker is located, and go to the area beneath the bridge. You’ll find a few dirt mounds there – use your shovel to dig them up until you discover the thief’s clue. Simply equip the shovel and approach each mound until you see a prompt. Once you’ve found The Thief’s Third Note, be sure to read it to continue the Trace of Shadows quest.

If you’re having trouble with the prompt showing up or digging, be sure to use a simple, unupgraded shovel. Upgraded shovels can sometimes cause problems with the dirt piles, so it’s best to stick with the basic one.

Track The Traces At Duskwood In Crimson Desert

If you’ve already solved the puzzle at Duskwood Waterside Ruins, getting to the next area with the Abyss Cresset will be simple. Otherwise, you’ll need to travel there directly. When you arrive, turn to face southeast and go to the last two rows. Take the white piece – you’ll find the next thief’s note and a piece from Duskwood underneath it. Don’t forget to read the note in your inventory!

After that, head back to Oakenshield Manor in Hernand City and talk to Garham Alfonso and Alan Serkis. They’ll put all the clues together and figure out what happened. Alan will then send you to the last place where you need to solve a final puzzle to finish the quest.
